HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 4506

Your two "plane" outfits are the only ones I almost like. The jacket seems to be unstructured and causal, yet it is styled as if it is a suit separate. That bothers me. You also seem to always have one or two "look at me" gimmicks that make your outfits fail. I only care for maybe one or two of the shoes you have posted.

I like it, mostly. Don't want to comment on each outfit, but I like Rome 1 and the pents of Rome 2 a lot.

What irritates me is the way-too-open cardigan. I'd rather leave the top button open and, on the other hand, button an additional button on the lower side.

High praise indeed, as he only posted two shoes!

The jacket looks alright.

The rest does not.

The tie is PRL and is four sided.  I always wear it with a tie clip so the other side doesn't show.  In this particular pose, the other side poked out.

I bought some new buttons for the jacket last month.  I haven't gotten around to putting them on yet.  Which pair do you like?

I go back and forth about buttoning that button.  Sometimes I button it and sometimes I don't.

Yeah.  It's the rainy season in Italy so I bought shoes with rubber soles.

Hello again today, gents!

Today was cold so I wore a tweed jacket and a long-hair hat for warmth.

What do you guys think of the lapel size and the cut?

Its a bit wild but I think you pull it off.  I always enjoy seeing what you put together.

I think the jacket fits great but please try a more relaxed posture...

I don't mind oversized lapels, dated or otherwise, but those shoulders are way too built up.

Does that shirt have two collars? O_o

Gentlemen, you two are probably the toughest critics on this thread, which is fine, as it helps to keep standards high.

Nevertheless, I'm going to counterbalance your negs on AAS on this occasion by stating that while I find his fits quirky, not very WAYWRN-PC, and occasionally way too busy, I really do admire the consistency of his style. He is one of the closest things we have here to a true dandy - and I mean that in the nicest sense of the term.

Anyway I'm relieved neither of you have turned your attention too closely to any of my own efforts. Possibly you just didn't know where to start. (Also, I haven't had time to post much recently.) I would be genuinely curious to know what does meet your approval in the way of classic men's style.

I like good vintage styling, but this jacket is just too small. You can see that the cloth is straining around the button and that the jacket opens up too much below the button.

I guess your unnatural pose is due to the fact that you try to compensate by pushing your shoulders forward. In short, you get the George Raft effect:

I like AAS's consistency, but he's simply doing his own take on the Ivy look, it's just that you see very few people doing it these days. He's not really a Dandy. Forum members who would qualify for that title, could include Label King, Barims/a (neither of whom don't really post here any more), Butler and TTO. As it happens, Barima is actually featured in the recent 'I am Dandy' book, and Butler and TTO were both seen at the London launch...
