HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 4428

From the holiday party last night

I forgot my pocket square as I sprinted out the door to catch a bus. I think it worked out okay and my tie matched her dress so that was good!

RTC, suit and vest look pretty good-- but what's going on with your shirt collar & tie knot??

Picture was taken at the end of the night before we left to go get our coats. Tie is loosened and collar is unbuttoned. I definitely thought about not posting this picture because of it. ahhahhaha.

I was schweaty as fakkkkkk!!!

I never lose the knot of my tie, not even when I go to parties and dancing is required. I can't stop dancing.

I like the jacket, riderhecliche.

Thanks! This is currently my best suit and doubles up for interview duty. I bought it off the rack when I was in India a few years ago and they took measurements and had it altered. I'm hoping to replace it with a nice wool suit in the same color. Right now, I end up wearing the jacket and pants separately relatively often.

I thrifted that tie about 3 hours before the event. I was elated that I finally found a solid burgundy tie. Now I have both a solid burgundy and solid navy tie. Score!

That's sort of what I've heard. I'm sure it's sort of a cultural one-upmanship thing, too, like the Ivy resort crowd wearing the same navy blazer, BD shirt, and repp tie, but with increasingly crazy pants.

Jacket fits you well, rtc, but that look would have been infinitely better without the vest. I'm not a fan of odd vests in general, but when I do like the look, it's generally a vest lighter than the jacket. A vest that dark just creates a black whole where your torso should be.

I've gone back to this green tie as I wanted to apply some of the feedback I got last time I wore it. So I've paired it with a plainer shirt and also added a burgundy PS, as was suggested by...someone. Sorry can't remember! :-)

Wearing a different suit this time. Funnily enough it looks grey in some of these photos but is actually indigo.

The *only* thing is that perhaps the tie texture / pattern is too closely matched to the shirt? Should it be a plainer cotton?

Trying to be a little "sprezzatura" with the tie (imperfect dimple, inside blade left loose):

The colour here is more like the actual colour of the suit:

Obligatory "getting coffee" shot:

My first Luxire shirt. Collar is the NOBD I collar. Fits very good and it takes only 11 days from the order to the receipt.

38, I like the jacket and its fit (sans some sleeve pitch issues) on you, but that is a super city shirt with a super country jacket. It really doesn't mesh well. A nifty jacket like that deserves some coherence in its pairings.
