I love that square myself, but I honestly don't know what I was thinking when I tried matching it with that jacket. (I was probably too busy dressing the kids to think about it at all.)

Reminds me of Key Lime Pie, but I like it.

You may make me rethink paisley ties. Very nice, G.

I hope so!

The SC and jeans said \\casual and the shirt (though a button-down) seemed too conservative.

Amazing advice! Many thanks!

Yeah, a different color, solid shirt would be much better. Thanks!

It's nice, but you can overdo it.

Nothing, just my granite-like physique underneath. Seriously though, not sure, maybe just my posture for the photo, the fabric is quite light.

Keep the shoes and pants, but swap out the shirt to something that coordinates, even a simple white or loose colorful linen shirt would work. Look at Mr.K's summer fits for ideas... also consider a casual belt like a woven/braided or colorful ribbon d-ring belt.

Thanks for the input. My initial thought was a white shirt, which seemed kind of dull. I thought the med-grey - as opposed to another light color -would contrast the light-blue well and the check would liven it up a bit. I see what you're saying about the shirt v. the shoes though.

This is the most "dressed up" I've been since the school year ended. Thought I should capture it for posterity.

Indigo Palms linen shirt
Banana Republic lightweight cotton slacks
Polo striped cloth belt
Ray-Ban shades
Citizen watch
Johnston & Murphy disposable loafers
Oldog/oldtrix socks
