I wouldn't go as far as "recurring", but two consecutive days is just cause for concern - I'm touched that you care!  See, as my SF modus operandi is to get out of the car, take out my phone, take two or three happy snaps while in motion, and then walk into my office, I am often a little careless in making any fine adjustments along the way.  I do though, you will be relieved to know, observe the SB jacket/tie protocol at all times when seated.  The next two suits I have coming will indeed take braces.  Anyway, I was careful to make sure my "pants" were in proper order today.  All is well!

NB, I was also extra careful to give my PS the correct level of apparent nonchalance, and my Shibumi grenadine the approved DFIH instead of a Shelby.  Butch, I think of you almost every day.

Blue suit and green tie. Breakin' all the rules.

Breaking them pretty skillfully, IMO. Though I wouldn't pair that tie and square, myself.

Ping, great whistle - how about a nice rich colour in that tie?  I fear all that grey will make you look pale.

Don, nice trousers.

Gianni: I appreciate that you are both the premier artisanal tie-maker of this community, and very Italian.  Normal parameters can be dismissed then, as you are a bold walking advertisement for your magnificent craft.  I will only add that, should (God forbid), your train fall into the sea, your body would be the first spotted by rescuers, at considerable distance.  Nice shirt and suit by the look of it, too. :)

:):)Thank you for your comments and for your nice words. Really. I really love the colors

Thanks. Yeah, it may have been too far flung from the rest of the outfit.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Nice elements, especially the shoes. But there's something wrong about the balance of this fit. Took me a while to work out what it is...

The buttoning point on the suit jacket is too high. This may not be noticeable with its matching pants, but those jeans are relatively low-cut, and they just don't work with that high buttoning point.

Sorry to nit-pick. The shoes are nice, and kudos to you for rocking an ascot.

My thoughts exactly on both counts.  Although I don't like that the cravat and pocket square match.  But for me, half suit/half mangina-jeans is a bad thing, always.

(P.S. you look sharp today, Coxy, very tasteful)

Thanks for the thumbs on yesterday's fit, much appreciated fistbump.gif

Today I'm sporting a trifecta of items that are not entirely SF-approved - grey odd jacket, charcoal flannels and a red tie. Let the flaming begin... peepwall[1].gif

If you took away the cardigan it would be perfect.  But you might freeze, and that would be a bad thing.  There's nothing wrong with it, it just feels like one thing too many.  Maybe if it contrasted more with the rest, and the tie less so.  Nit-picking, though.  And I like the tie. :)

So now we can't wear a green tie with a blue suit? If we come up with one more "rule" it's going to get to the point where we all dress like the Reservoir Dogs gang.

Thanks, yes I would indeed freeze without the cardigan (it 's no coincidence I used a three-piece yesterday). Seems like our maintenance crew here at the university are reluctant to crank up the indoor heat, even if we're experiencing a cold spell..... cold[1].gif

I would like to think that there is more contrast between trousers (charcoal) and cardigan (navy) in real life, but that might just be wishful thinking on my behalf....
