Yeah, I've been trying to figure out how to wear this jacket at work. It's part of a suit and I have the black pants to go with it.

Nehru jackets are hard though. I don't own any round collar dress shirts, but I could do a T-shirt underneath if I keep it mostly buttoned the entire day. Or a sweater for that matter. That might look good.

I wanted to see what it looks like with a collar shirt and a Tie and it's pretty okay. Not as garish as I thought it would be. The 'lapel' thing was mostly for comedic effect, though that wasn't bad. Or so I thought.

They are, because they don't look good at all, no matter how you incorprate them.

Ok, I thought I knew how to reply to that... but...

...I just think you have a lot to learn and a lot of getting-rid to do.

There's a certain irony in telling an indian man that nehru jackets should be tossed out.

Though on the other hand, if I keep wearing jackets that you guys hate then my ugly ties might escape notice!

Look, I didn't mean to be insensitive about your cultural background (which I didn't even realize), I stated my opinion from a classic-menswear-perspective.

There are a lot of great infos in this forum and a lot of people already tried to help you with their posts. I doesn't happen over night, but if you incorporate your newfound knowledge in future investments, you'll improve your outfits over time. Promise.

And if I flip the collar over, it can make a lapel of sorts. Weird, but I think it looks a little nutso in a good way.

Not the best pants for the getup, but I think they worked okay. I reached over to put on jeans this morning and they had a huge stain from when I spilled food on them at a restaurant last week. 2 margaritas did me in. Sigh for being a lightweight, but hey atleast I'm a cheap date!

Shirt sleeves are a little short, but I also hiked them up for something earlier and forgot to let them back down!

1. tie needs to go
2. jacket needs to be tailored a bit or you are slouching a lot, not sure.
3. new shoes!!!
4. pocket square is out of place

Stugotes, I was being facetious haha. No offense taken!

Such jackets would be better in a SWD fit. No tie, no PS, no red chino pants and no collar shirt.

rtc, no hate, but that fit was turrble. I know you like being silly and what not, but posting fit pits like that in an essentially classically oriented mens dress thread, will invariably lead to strong criticism, and rightfully so.

You don't have to change how you dress, but you should know what environment you are presenting yourself in. Take it all in, and learn if you so choose.

stugotes, you're just flat wrong about Doc's peaks. Thems is the duck's nuts.

ridethecliche (and WTF does that even mean, man?), the nehru is kinda cool IMO, but can't be done in the MC style. It's too distinctive a piece to try to bend to the conventions of MC.

Homey, lemme give you some advice that might save you 137 seconds of typing every time you upload a picture....all of the justifications that you put on your posts about why your pants are orange or why you have 4 buttons buttoned or why you dress better than the people you are around are not going to convince anyone HERE to suddenly like what you're wearing. There is a certain aesthetic on this board and trying to talk your way into it ain't gonna get you anywhere.

That being said, some of your stuff is fine. Pretty much not what I'd wear, but fine. But you're trying to cram a proverbial round peg into a square hole on the Classic Menswear thread. If you came here just to post a pic of yourself, then do so and leave off the justifications. But if you want to dress better, and pass the sniff test, then don't worry about your margaritas and instead listen to what people say about fit (literal fit, like that flaring at the hips of all your jackets) or shirt/tie combos.
