Stitchy - setting the bar, well done.

Betel - agree with sprezziano, there is something out of whack with the shirt in that combo as a whole.

I've had a wife and baby up throwing up all night, so no fit for me today I'm staying home with my eyes hanging out of my head. musicboohoo[1].gif

It's been bugging me what this was reminding me of.  And I've finally placed it.  Particularly at about 50 seconds in.

Obviously you've a far nicer coat, and is a real Joo.  Apart from that, you know, there's definitely something.

:)

Braddock, seeing that fit makes me want to hunt for a DB jacket. Hmmm.

What's your height/weight? I'm trying to conceptualize how certain fits would look on me since some of the heavier stuff looks eh given that I'm relatively skinny.

Let me tell you how technologically behind the times I am: my phone is 7+ years old, so its camera remains beyond terrible. I don't know exactly, but it's probably something like 2 or 3 megapixels! Hence my still owning a separate P&S camera. Which is even older than the phone, by the way!

I generally keep things until they break rather than upgrading constantly, so tend to have much older tech than most people. Hell, I only got a new laptop a year or two ago because the old one finally died after about 8 years faithful service. I'll keep the current one until it dies too. Another example: I replaced my 10 year old car last month because it needed an engine stripdown to fix a problem, and it wasn't worth doing that. It doesn't bother me to have outdated stuff as long as it still does what I want it to. When I do get round to getting something new, I tend to buy something nice. It's just that I don't buy it unless what it's replacing is beyond redemption.

Having said all that, I think even my old P&S is better than using a modern phone camera for this kind of snap, if only because it can sit somewhere stable. If there is decent lighting, it takes decent photos; I just don't get good light in that room from about late September until about March, and sadly there's nowhere else in the house with a ledge the right kind of distance to take a full-length pic.

My cell (a stupid phone) is about the same age. And I still have a non-flat TV (tube TV?). How about that?

You and me both! I still have my ancient (10-12 years old) CRT Sony WEGA widescreen TV. Weighs a ton, only 36", and it cost a small fortune when I bought it... but I still think its picture quality is superior to many modern flatscreen TVs. It did go through a bad patch about a year or two ago where it developed a temporary flicker (I think the tubes lost alignment), but it self-corrected after a couple of months and is now going strong again! I'll keep it until its natural end, I think.

Tough colour to pick for a monochrome challenge. It might not be quite monochrome, technically, but it's close enough for me. Nice one!

smile.gif 12 years here as well. Philips. Also widescreen (very modern!). But your TV is huge! Mine is 26"... Every now and then (sometimes with a year in between), the colours go all Scott Schuman, but it seems that as soon as I start looking for a new one, the problems suddenly disappear. I think they have soul, doc...

Hey, IMHO while shirt + SC and tie + SC are great combos, tie + shirt doesn't work that well. At least to my eyes.

Agree. I think I need a darker shade of brown for the tie. When I posted the pic that thought crossed my mind, thanks for the recommendations!

For the Friday Challenge I went with browns.  I started with this jacket that I wanted to wear yesterday.  I then added the light brown shoes and belt which match the buttons on the jacket.  Next, I added khaki pants, then a camel sweater and a camel wool knit tie.  They were all pretty much an exact match to each other.  I picked a white shirt next.  I would have liked to wear the brown windowpane shirt from earlier this week, but it's dirty.  I added a brown scarf/pocket square and khaki socks last.  I put everything on this morning except the sweater and decided to go with this vest and a dark brown tie instead.  I don't have any brown pocket squares besides this one.  It's kind of matchy with the tie, but it is not really a solid brown pocket square.  I didn't want to show the other colors because of the challenge.  I spoilered a picture of the scarf below.

Full body and pocket scarf. (Click to show)

PS I thrifted the scarf.  I went to Columbia as an undergrad.  I just couldn't pass this thing up.
