HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 4299

Repost: Found couple things that irritated me. The lapels were not straight and flat, the left shirt sleeve was not showing, and the shirt collars were not touching or tucked underneath the jacket. My apologies, gentlemen.

Cold day in boston today, but I ventured out to take pictures that weren't selfies in the bathroom. On the plus side, there weren't too many people that were going to give me silly looks.

I think I could have gone for a little more cohesiveness with the pants/jacket. I think the ensemble looks good without the jacket as well (no pic). I also wish the shoes were less creased. I do love these shoes though.

In any event, here's to the oncoming roast.

I'm not sure I buy into the 'fixed everything up' philosophy. If it shifts as you walk and move around, that's how you appear to everyone else. It's a pretty awesome way to appear to everyone else though. Just call it sprezz next time!

As alway I appreciate any criticism. I'm still looking for a location for full length fit picture.

I'm not one to talk on here, but I'm wondering why the shoulder seems to 'bump' up in the line from the neck. It makes the lines look a little funny to my eye. Also, I think you could have gone a little bolder with the tie. The contrast of the orange and your tan blazer don't quite do it for me. I probably would have worn a tie which had a lot of red in it.

My (negative) $0.02

There's the reason I used quotes. It's not exactly "following a rule" it's just about doing something different to what's supposed to be the best option.
It cannot be seen on the pic, but I like the way the tie can be seen going around the collar when using an extreme cutaway one. For that matter, a slim knot shows more of the sides of the tie on the collar. That was my intention: finding a new look out of the ordinary.

SB - looking good in my suit. wink.gif

ridethecliche - better, but pants and jacket need more contrast and you need better shirt collars. smile.gif

Yay!

Atleast I'm not in denial and called it out. What color pants would you have suggested with this? I think nantucket reds go well with it, but I wouldn't wear that shirt with those.

The fit looks decent though? Those are my nicest pants that aren't part of a suit!

Ok, here it goes: sad, too sad. That's my opinion looking at the first picture.

Brown everywhere except for the tie (different tones but same sadness). The shirt cannot fight everything else just by having a more vivid color.

Anyway, a stiff collar would have improve the look quite much.

Add a slim fit on the jacket, a purple silk tie with white polka dots, a white pocket square and a smile,... now you're done.

Of course, do not take me seriously, you have your tastes I have mine.

It's beyond fashion, imo. Most all the top makers offer peaked options in basic colors these days (and have for awhile). I'd classify the peaked lapel thing as progression. I, for one, prefer the peaked lapel from a purely ascetic perspective. Nothing wrong with a nice peaked lapel. Nor is there anything wrong with a notch. Both are great, imo.

I like the combination of color and patterns. Really. It seems easier than it is.

If I had to change something, it would probably be the tie. Maybe a little bit too much Prince of Wales pattern: jacket+tie. Anyway, it works as it is.

The detail of jacket, cardigan and shirt sleeves' length is fantastic.

There is something about the jacket that makes it look much better (way much better) when unbuttoned.

I especially like, the pocket square, the cardigan and the scarf.

Haha. One day, I'll get 'it'.

Seriously though, what color pants would go better with that blazer? Khaki? Salmon?
