Yes, Sherry Tweed book

One of my favourite books. :slayer:

I hope that Holdfast considers the tie to be inappropriate only with cords, for I think that in the ensemble pictured it's great. Brown trousers with the other colours I find a little odd.

Yes, absolutely, the chosen tie is just fine with the given outfit. With the hypothetical pair of cords, I think something more textured would be better.

Awesome way to find out what a jacket would possibly look like :satisfied:

About the Paddock. Not sure if you need to button both button, though you certainly could, as I've many photographs and illustrations where only the bottom one is buttoned. After having seen your photograph, though it isn't a Paddock, made me want to have a Paddock made for myself. Next autumn, perhaps.

You've gone through a few obnoxious situations with this MTM operation, haven't you? It's a shame, because your jackets seems to be improving constantly. Do you've another possible source?

Also, sorry to hear about the theft.

I think if I have the next jacket made a bit longer, as HF suggests, the stance will look more balanced.

Yeah, this MTM operation is messy. It's taken me way too many garments to get this result, and even then, it's never perfect. Besides the lapel roll thing, the sleeve pitch was corrected in just one sleeve, and the sleeve buttonholes weren't opened (I asked for 4 real buttonholes). I can't even open them myself because the first one is sewn on the outside only, so it would fray if cut open. If the jacket's silhouette wasn't so damn flattering at last, I probably wouldn't have accepted it - but I didn't want to risk them fixing the "minor" mistakes, then messing up more important aspects. A new source would be starting over from scratch, and I'm not sure what to do. With this jacket I'm moving into the €600 territory, which is a lot of money for me, and while I don't ask for bespoke fit quality (even though it's getting close)  at least I'd like to get what I asked for.

I'm not sure about buttoning the bottom button only in a Paddock coat. It's probably fine, but I think I'd rather do a true 3-button with a lower stance.

Stitch, is that that a Drake's wool tie? If so I have the same but with a red base.

btw stitchy, that tie looks great. Looks like challis, although not quite as smooth - regular wool twill?

Cool, I've had mine for quite a while and they are no longer for sale through Drake's website frown.gif . Must look it up on NMWA (does that abbreviation sound like a rap group to more people than me?)

I am not good at discerning these things. I think it is just a regular wool, but not twill as far as I can tell.

Going back to your initial question, you are not alone in that observation. No pun intended. :satisfied:
