Holdfast, that tie is brilliant!

Please ignore the absolutely horrendous green wall color; this is my home office/inventory storage. We haven't gotten around to repainting.

First, the suit is not the best fitting suit I have as it is pre-SF…

Thanks for the comments, I tried a bit harder with my knot…not as sloppy this time.

And, finally, the shoes are not near as rough as they look…

love that suit, GMM.

Cool suit, GMMcL.

And thanks all for the dictionary-worth of adjectives re: the Pucci tie!!

You look really toasty on this dreary day! Oh, and sharp too...

First I make the same pose as for the first picture. When I stand straight I am looking every time a little bit like a robot. So I tried it with one leg a little bit cocked.

Thank you, Mr. D. I had to run errands this lunchtime, and it was good to be bundled up in lower Manhattan (still full of post-marathon tourists, all pawing through the goods at Century 21 - for those not from the metro NYC area, a major discounter, not a real-estate firm).

A couple weeks behind, and complete newbie question.
But what type of pants are these? They look different than any other wool pants I've seen, really like the texture.

Very nice indeed. Would love even more if the square wasn't almost exactly the same colour as the shirt.  The tie is a really great choice for that solid shirt/suit backdrop.

It's personal preference, but I think a little bit more length to the jacket, maybe 0.5" or so, and moving the bottom button down by the same amount, would balance a jacket out just a little more.

Now wake-up!! :decisions:

Received a new jacket today, beautiful fabric, but not entirely happy with the fit.

My thoughts (Click to show)

I think the buttoning point is quite high, the jacket is a bit on the short side, and the cut is very boxy/has no shape to it, while it's still somehow slightly pulling at the button. It's also showing the same lines in the sides as in the product picture:

I'm wondering whether those lines are inherent to the fabric, a beautiful cotton/silk mix? Normally I would just return it, but I really like the fabric, so would it be worth having a tailor trying to rectify the boxy cut and the lines in the side?
