If you have time, could you elaborate? Just curious. smile.gif

Although he may not have intended it, I feel that perhaps Claghorn simply provided me with opportunity to fail spectacularly! As always, comments are heartily welcomed!

Pants are olive. Shirts is tan/white herringbone, I think it's tan enough at a distance but may be wrong. Tie is  . . . I'm not sure but I thought the colors went well with everything else. (I actually changed to it from a brown wool last minute)

P.S. Wore a PS. Still trying to figure these things out.

My thoughts (Click to show)

Some of my concerns include:

1. Pattern scale madness?

2. Bike toe blucher and tie sending mixed signals?

3. Pants fit? (I had these tailored after losing like 30 lbs. Did my tailor miss something? Should I just ditch them?)

4. PS color/type/fold (Kind of clueless here, just thought I'd wing it.)

5. Tie sucks?

Convo with wife:

luv: What do you think?

wife: NO.

luv: Well I don't have time to change, it's not an epic fail is it?

wife: Yes. Yes it is.

Looks kind of Spoo-ish, HF. :D

 But I like it.

Thanks all for your input. much appreciated.  YRR92, in stitches, been following you guys for awhile, great stuff.

RE: Collar roll, that's what a recent BB OBCD will get you I guess. Really liking the roll on my Kamakuras.

Great suit, Holdfast, but you need to burn the tie! PS is fine, but too much purple/burgundy going on there!

Rather casual today but I figured a shawl collar sweater would suffice the colors are bad

Navy flannel pants and grey sweater

Some similarties with Old School Spoo, rather than New School Spoo, perhaps.

Sure, but JapanAlex kind of picks up most of the differences in his reply, requoted below:

What he's noticing is precisely what I was referring to: a very flashy tie, with some heavy colour coordination, paired to a jazzy suit. It's a very leery look; vaguely Hollywood gangster, or even spivvy. I still like it as an occasional look, precisely because it's so obviously anti-taste and I've always enjoyed cocking a snook. This kind of look occupies a much smaller proportion of my wardrobe than it used to; I've found it useful to broaden my wardrobe and my circumstances have changed in the meantime too, requiring a slightly difference presence most of the time... but I'd never abandon it altogether as a look. It's very outside the bounds of discretion, but that's what's inherently amusing about it, at least to me.

Another fit from out this weekend where it was finally cold enough for flannel and lambswool

Question - does the scale of the tie pattern clash with the flecks in the tweed?

Awesome tie, details? If you want to sell it PM me ;)

Nice look there. I was going to watch "GRAVITY" but the trailer just sucked and I stopped believing in Rotten Tomato ratings and IMDB ratings

Haha...exactly what does that mean anyway? :D

Copy room style.

Doc: There will be no cock snooking here. That's just a bridge too far.

Stitchy: I like the tie, but not with a navy jacket.
