And the Chelsea boots I don't think work very well in this combination, though I have nothing against Chelsea (or dealer) boots in general. Would have prefered some brogues of some kind with a jacket and trousers like those.

AAS - today, no (really don't like the green tie with the red striped contrast-collar shirt, sorry - you can do red and green but not these particular hues and the contrast collar just drives it over the edge with this combination), yesterday, okay. And well done on the (extra) job.

IS this is such a great look for u, IMO.   Warm, friendly and great color coordination.  the caramel? trousers are :satisfied:

you're always super-solid Tactical.   that tie's a bit 'counter-intuitive' IMO,  but works great off the plaid and pencil stripes

I think your colour choices are already quite 'country' so it wouldn't hurt at all. And I think people are right (here and on SW&D) about your particular style and rounder-toed shoes. They work so much better for you.

(Also LOLing at Teger's comment that you should look at 'classic menswear'...  )

well, many of them are i guess, but much of my SCs are pretty city and almost all of my shoes are.

and yes, i agree that i am better off with rounder lasts, i wish i liked them more than i do.

x-post from what i said in SWD

thank you, parker. mighty kind of you.

since you brought it up, this is an area i have struggled with for a long time. i know that my broader/larger build really calls for a rounder last like these marlows, but i have long hesitated for 2 reasons.

1. i simply like the look of more angular/aggressive dress shoes over that of more rounded ones.

2. i have a hard time envisioning a dressy outfit looking right with what i view as a more clunky shoe.

so, as to number 1, i just said to myself, suck it up and accept that you look better in shoes that you may not prefer. and as to number 2, i felt that with a more country look like i went with today, as opposed to a city look, that the rounded last really is actually better.

anyhow, sorry for the mini essay, but so is the story of my non pointy shoes, and i am pleased with the outcome.

and yeah, that was lulzy what teger said.

Have your feet amputated. It's what I did. Walking into a board meeting on ankle nubs commands respect.

the beard's a factor IMO too. I associate city with clean-shaven, smooth, shiny n cool blues, grays whites;  country with fuzzy browns, creams, reds, warmth.  It's not impossible to do city + beard but rustic/country/lots of hair is more natural i think.  aaanyways, tangent, but those Marlows or whatever look great Stitches
