Don't nip the waist. See how the less shaped jacket makes you look much less pear-shaped, even though you usually take pics at an angle prone to do so. Plus, suppressing the waist doesn't always work as expected and you risk making it not fit as greatly as it does now!

No, they are just regular flap pockets, no patch. Where are you seeing the patch pockets?

+ 1 on AAS leaving the SC as is.
AAS, I agree with the others, leave the SC as is, it looks great.
Also, while SC, pants and tie are well chosen and while I can realise that bit loafers might just simply not to my taste but fine for this picture, the shirt definitely is not.
Please kill it with fire, it ruins the whole look.

I actually thought the shirt made it great, very distinctive and unique. I'm a big fan of navy blazer / tan trousers, but I think we all need to make it our own in some way -- and though I might not wear that shirt, it works well for AAS.

Each to his own.
If AAS feels fine, that is all that counts.

Personally, I think certain combinations are classics for good reasons.
The shirt, just like those preppy/madras pants that were posted some days ago, just try too much and are too much into peoples' faces.
Style to me is about simplicity and understatement.

Have a look at the followin pictures, those are casual outfits done right in my opinion. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Thank you sir. Advice taken on board! smile.gif

That tie is absolutely fabulous Pliny! Like everything minus the socks, which are bright enough, relative to the rest of the ensemble, to almost blow out my monitor eek.gif

This.

I pinned the middle image (I use Pinterest and not Tumblr despite being a male. It's for my own reference and it seems like an easier way to store images. The only thing I pin are you guys :embar:)

(and myself. I'd forget fits I'd like if I didn't)

Channeling RDiaz with my new jacket.

SC: Canali

Shirt, tie: Oxford

PS: Duchamp

Pants: Pal Zileri

The jacket required no alterations whatsoever. Wool/linen/silk blend with a very subtle herringbone weave which doesn't show up in the photos. MOP buttons.

I was the coxaca. Now, thanks to the wonders of modern technology, I am Coxsackie. Hello everyone.

Great shots Mcobinad; love those windowpanes.  I'm wondering how my tailor's bill are going to rise if I start trying to dress my son to match though!  Did you get those outfits made for your boys or off the peg?  I'd love to know who makes things that cool for kids!

Just one small thing: maybe just show one pic, and hide the rest under a spoiler tag? (That's the black speech bubble thing in the text editor).  Then the page scrolls easily but we can still see the whole lot with one click,

I think FM has hit on the magic of this - the way the obvious anti-style of a boldly logo'd accessory draws the eye away from the vile tie, the similar PS, the matching colours of the two aforementioned items, the frightful shirt, the skinny lapels, the watch bling, the pinky ring and the wrist junk, striking an almost perfect balance of obnoxiousness.  Every individual item is a slap in the face, although I grant that Mikael clearly has a strong and confident personal style.  I can't knock that.  Although I could suggest a hair cut, but that's just me being old-fashioned.

The briefcase itself is doubtless very nice.  But I do have this thing about visible logos, famous or not.  As for proud traditions, LV is to design what Starbucks is to coffee.  Really nothing inherently wrong with it, a lot of money invested to make it consistent, and some people just really like the flavour.  But let's not pretend it's special.  And I wouldn't put a Starbucks logo on my own coffee mugs.  That's all.

I love the tie too, but I'd wear it with a navy or grey suit and a blue shirt. Because it's so muted, I think it needs a contrast and a little dash of colour somewhere - maybe around the PS area too, but definitely above the waist!  As for the rest, well, talking of obnoxiousness as above, I'm in a similar mood today:  did somebody say bright socks? I didn't notice any bright socks.

Bright socks. Plus. (Click to show)

P.S. Great jacket...er.."Cox"! (From cock to sack, that's really a step up is it?)
