SVB, here are a couple of really quick and dirty mock ups so that perhaps we can settle this once and for all.

The first one is done directly from your photo and abstracts out that collar.

The second one is a touch higher, but the big difference is that the slope of the collar on your neck is shallower so that it appears... for lack of a better way to put it, flatter.

Given these, as far as the height of your collar goes, I think that this shirt is just fine. The thing that really makes difference, looks, at least to me, to be the slope around the front of your neck. I hope that these are of use to you.

Oh trust me, I'm fully aware of the PS-problem in these pics. The matching of dog leash and watch strap was actually unintended.
