my first fit pic.

relatively new to "dressing like a grown-up"

asking for SF's help.

I'd "clean up" the pants = get a "slim", tailored/minimal break pair.

Looks much cleaner - I'd also throw some color in there somewhere beyond the rather dull beige/brown/tan palette.

I'm sorry but the visible tie blade is just not good. It looks so off, it ruins otherwise decent fits. The latest one is no different. I really dig the pants/belt combo.

I might consider tucking in the narrow blade, as I've said before I want the larger blade to hit right at or above the belt line. The belt is R. Hanauer.

Same here. I confess that I get a small bit of pleasure in driving a car as old as I am. Fortunately, I think I'm in a bit better shape!
More like you're trying to dodge a flood! If you're going to wear negative break pants, the leg opening needs to be smaller than that.

I agree I need to get the leg opening slimmed, time to head to the tailor.

What are you doing with the skinny end of the tie? I guess you're trying to get sprezzatura, but it just looks like you've tied the tie improperly.
Also, for your outfit, not wearing socks doesn't work. I think slimmer pants would do a world of difference for you.
I'd also go for difference shoes with this outfit.

I already discussed the tie and I refuse to wear socks with my loafers, in North Carolina its very common practice. :slayer:

Thanks for the criticism

In Chile it's a very common practice to wear really square toe shoes and it's not correct, boy.

Now, now. There's a long tradition of loafers sans socks. You must allow for regional idiosyncrasies. He's not doing it quite right (which he acknowledges), so let's move on.

yeah, i'm not stand naturally, i was holding my arms out to show sleeve length.

sorry to say. i think, when you do that with your arms it actually detracts from what you are trying to accomplish. you certainly do not walk around like that, so thats not how your sleeves look in the wild. hold them to your side relaxed and naturally to show the actual length of the sleeves of the coat and shirt. and how they look irl.

worst case scenario they are too long/short and you are told to go **** a goat and that you are an embarrassment to clothing worldwide to see a tailor for a quick fix.

;)

also, its throwing off the neck/shoulder fit as well.

either way, welcome aboard, i hope you learn something from this animal house. :)

I presume you mean the car. 1969 FIAT 124SC. This isn't my picture, but it may, in fact, be my car:

Hey, cool car - the first car I ever bought was a Fiat. Mine was a little bit later model, though - a Spider 2000 Turbo instead of a 124. What a nightmare of a car that was...

It's too bad Spoo doesn't show his face. We could have dueling, rhyming smilies.

Fortunately, we don't really need the car, so if it's a hassle, I'm free to ignore it until I can be bothered. Right now, all of the showstoppers have been fixed and only safety issues remain...
