HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 3954

^^^^Welcome.

I can't see the details of your suit. Is it a solid navy? I don't think JAB gets much love here as the material and workmanship are not up to the standard generally posted in this thread.

From what I can see, your suit could stand some tailoring in the shoulder area in the rear and the pants are too long with way too much "break". The "Shows" look a little ruff for posting in this thread as well.

Shirt and tie don't seem bad at all. Keep lurkin' and learning. There are some seriously well dressed dudes in this crowd and you'll learn a lot.

Nice tie. I was trying to find some UPenn colored ties for family at the weekend. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. It is a navy with subtle textured pinstripes. I had to get this JAB on the spur of the moment but since moving to NYC (East Village) and working, I am going to upgrade the suiting brand quite a bit. If you could elaborate on what the "shows" mean it would be appreciated. I will keep lurking as as I find better vantage points for pictures and better clothing options I will continue to post and learn! I've followed you for a while as a fellow New Yorker and if you have any suggestions for where to get good quality suits let me know.

-trous are too long...have them taken up so they have just a slight break
-shirt sleeves too short...show some cuff!
-jacket looks too big from the back pic...a decent tailor could probably remedy the rumples
-white linen PS is always a good idea wink.gif

Thanks a bunch DerekS. Your posts always have me LOLing and your style is on point! I bought this suit when I was bigger and you can clearly tell with the "box-like" fit. I just wanted to post what I wore to a wedding this past weekend to get my StyleForum journey on its way. I look to follow your lead and others to improve my look dramatically...starting with implementing PS!

thanks Gwarg! It's terrible how my love of suits has always been in my head more than anything and I want to bring it to LIFE! Definitely stepping my suit game up to hang with the likes of posters in this thread!

Hi Faribeana88,

As you can see from the above post, I was kidding you about typing "Shows" instead of Shoes in your post. My suits were primary purchased from 2 sources. Barneys, always on sale, and Daffy's which has gone out of business. Sob, sob.

I haven't bought a suit in a while (have too many as it is) but I've purchased half a dozen SCs off of ebay and thrifted maybe 4 or 5 more. I tend to bing on one item at a time. shog[1].gif

I'm actually making a trip to Barney's this weekend so I'll be on the lookout for DEALS DEALS DEALS!!!

Barneys and deals are not two things I normally associate with one another.

Thank you for the compliment. The cloth is from a textile firm in Quebec.

LOL, good luck @ Barneys. I love that place.

Since you are even newer than me, I won't give you grief about that ugly avatar....angry.gif

I have found a number of great items on sale. I've done even better during "garage sale" season.

FUCK!!! that's just me getting excited! I'll amend that, I meant posters...I thoroughly enjoy this site. It has opened my eyes a lot and at 24 years old, I need to show that there is something to wear other than polos/button downs and khakis to work :slayer:
