Anyone here take their suit jackets to dry cleaners and ask them to JUST steam press it? I got a blank stare when I asked and so I am a bit hesitant to take my jacket(s).

Court today, so keeping it very conservative.

(Maybe it helped, because I won my case.)

Canali suit

Zegna tie

Ben Silver linen pocket square

Church's shoes.

Atlas briefcase

Hackett sunglasses

Unbreakable umbrella.

I like the tie on its own, and I like the rest of the rig, but the two together don't quite click. That tie with a striped flannel suit and suede shoes? Very cool. That tie in the summer with a hard-finished worsted, black shoes, and a white shirt? It's too wintry, fuzzy, and casual. Fit and silhouette are spot on, of course.

Holdfast -- I like your rig, but I can't make out what style the shoes are. Given that I've been living in navy jacket/tan trousers lately, I'm always curious to see how others furnish it out.

I have been experimenting, trying to get a tie that might be a little loud..the shoes are actually dark brown not black. IMO I would have picked a different tie that is more subtle..but I am learning to be a bit more adventurous with my ties..the shirt is not white but very thin pin stripe.. but with the sun in full force here when I take my lunches its hard to get that to pop when taking pictures..I'll swap that out with something silk or linen from now on probably..

As a matter of fact each morning I wake up and have one less step to get ready than yourself, so wouldn't that mean you try harder than me?

I think its funny that everyone gets riled up that I don't wear socks, yet no one gives DerekS crap for wearing tacky lapel pins representing companies he doesn't work for. Should he not just keep the label on his sleeve? I knew I was going to be criticized for no socks but thought everyone would have been used to it by now. frown.gif

Just my .02 cents foo.gif

If you cant stand the heat get out of the kitchen. What you are doing with the no sock thing reeks of effort with regard to going sockless with a tux, IMO. I too prefer no socks, but understand that there is a time and a place for everything. To me, going sockless at a wedding (while wearing the most formal of attire + slippers) just shows to much effort. It's like you got dressed and then looked in the mirror and realized you couldn't throw out the #menswear hashtag with socks. I do really like your fits and said as much within my post. At the end of the day I'm just some idiot with an opinion on a forum. If you like the look that is all that matters! Slippers are fly, though ; - )

Nice suit, I have Canalis in the 14xxx and 19xxx series, but what is that one? You look like a 13xxx guy.  What is the three button option?  Most I've seen of them are very hard three, and not 3-roll-2 like that.  If you could be a good guy and post the model number of that, it would help!  ....IMHO a very rare piece.

I bet I'd like it a little better if the shirt and shoes came through more clearly -- the tie is more casual than the suit, so the shirt and shoes have to meet it in the middle. I avoid wool or cashmere ties in summer on general principle. Better to take a risk and find out what works for you than to never learn anything.
