Today was the dreaded navy pents fit.

I didn't set out to end up in navy pents. But that's where I ended up after rejecting just about every other option. I would appreciate thoughts for what else might have worked. I guess some kind of brown or umber, but I think the pair I used to have in that color fell victim to my latest closet cleanse, because I couldn't find them. ffffuuuu.gif

I have 0 hate for yellow ties. Even if I had any, I'd find it hard not liking this combination.

Thanks for all the comments guys, it seems like some yellow ties might actually be acceptable then biggrin.gif. I used to be rather sceptical of yellow ties, mostly because of looks like this:

However, this really changed my mind:

GMM - one of the hardest parts about effective use of navy pents, is that they are extremely difficult to photograph without losing the navy color to an almost black block of color. some of the navy is visible in your pic, but not all, and i doubt its true to color. i will assume it is a lovely navy and say, well done!

I for one don't subscribe to the "no navy trousers" idea (I'm even wearing a pair as I write this smile.gif), but I think that when navy trousers work (as they do in GMMcLs fit!) there is often another option that would work equally well or better. In this case a pair of dar grey/charcoal trousers would look splendid, I think.

Spot of tweed... well, it was a bit nippy outside.

@pingson: I think your outfit awesome, including the yellow tie.

@dereks: I can't imagine why you don't like monday's, you always seem to outdo your very own self dress wise on mondays (and you look really good nearly always - well whenever I get to notice anyhow) so if you could match your mood to your beautiful outfit I would imagine all would be well with you in the world.. biggrin.gif  (on mondays and probably everyday for that matter)

Very nice. Bue shirt and yellow tie is a good combination. Not so sure about the PS, I find it a bit odd and too dark for the rest of the palette. I think something with more light blue in it would be better.

Love this jacket, getting as much wear out of it as I can prior to month end.

Linen/wool blend.

Colors look good and no prob from me on the yellow tie, but something very weird is going on with your shoulders. There's a double bump of sorts between your neck and the shoulder seam, hopefully it's just from your pose. It almost looks like it's bunching because the shoulders are too wide. Or is it MTM and you have massive lats?
