HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 3817

Tie 4 is the epitome of what I dislike about Charvet. I think they make very nice knots but so many of their ties are just way too loud and have too much sheen for my taste.

I didn't even know they made ties like #2 in that picture.

I don't mind ties 1 through 3 on their own but I think this illustrates perfectly what PB was driving at - navy on navy isn't the best way to go.

Not that these are 100% true navy but you get the idea ... a different color can be so much easier to work with.

I'm down with #2. #5 is aight. I've worn something similar.

This was my attempt with a similar color of tie a while back. Nevermind the tie knot. It was redone immediately afterward.

That's where I was going. I am returning some and will never buy another navy tie again. What colours would you suggest?

And I am definitely gonna get myself an effing charcoal grey suit so that I can wear ALL my navy ties!!! Muahahahahaha!!!!!

I think deep burgundy against navy always looks nice

Today, basically I found out that I cannot freaking match colours and that I have too many freaking navy ties that looked great when I bought them but look somewhat shitty when I pair them up with what I have. Charcoal grey, charcoal grey suit.

RD10, I would like that a lot more with a plain white shirt.

Thanks, SB. You think? I was trying to avoid a plain white with that tie.
I think the conventional wisdom about white shirts goes too far. Especially with lighter ties with light jackets, white looks great IMO.

Thanks.  I should have clarified.  It wasn't a decision made pursuant to conventional anti-white shirt wisdom, but rather in avoidance of a total washout.
