  • You are allowed to post one fit from the previous week
  • It can be any type. OCBD, Casual, anything - as long as it's Men's Classic
  • The fit can not be yours, it must be someone else's fit that you admire
  • No discussion, though you are allowed to thumb up as many pictures as you want.
  • Though there's no discussion, a brief description on why you liked it
  • Picture can be from anywhere on the MC side, In Good Taste, HOF, MC, any thread at all (I'd say you need permission but I think if you post a picture on the forum, that's consent enough)
  • (maybe) you're allowed to post the same fit if it has been posted, so long as you are aware it's the only post you get. That way you can leave your comments on why you liked it

This way, you can see why people like what you have and how many like it. More of an admiration thread than critique.

Anyone like the idea?

This kind of thing has been done before. The most recent example I can think of is gdl's thread. They all die out. SW&D has the pictures-only thread. You could do that for MC, I guess, but I doubt you'd find many takers for it. We like the gab too much over here.

WAYWRN is not broken. No need to fix it.

Gotcha.

Wasn't really thinking of fixing it, I know it's not broken. But somewhat of a centralized place of where people can post what they thought was best from last week.

I see the thread. I like it! Maybe I'll make that one day.

I like the tie, the shirt, and the pocket square separately. However, I think that they need some common element to pull them all together.

(Although maybe the tie and the shirt do have some color harmony, and I just can't tell because of the poor picture quality.)

The shirt is Purple and the tie is a lighter green so no, But thanks for the advice I will look for different Combo's nextime, any tie suggestions

You know it's funny. I haven't really looked at any of the photos that I posted yesterday and today since I first posted them two years ago and seeing them now I actually said to myself..."WOW, i'd still wear that!" It has been nice to look back on my evolution and realize just how much I have actually learned from SF and that it is possible to develop a personal style while still remaining MC.

It was a long process of trial and error with some minor successes bookended by a lot of epic failures but in the end it was well worth it!

Cheers SF! cheers.gif

theres a lot to be learned here. Im far from perfect, but I think i have a much better grasp on what I like, what pairs well with what, and some things to avoid. Granted, i still have a long way to go, but ive learned a ton.

Oh I totally agree and that's the beauty and fun of all this...the ongoing pursuit of sartorial knowledge and the development of our own take on MC guidelines and I certainly look forward to my own ongoing journey.

Once again slightly crappy photos, but last day at the office internship then back to school so decided to have some fun

I like the colors but the tie pattern might be a miss, looking for suggestions on anything else as well.

While I know some of you don't like the socks, the Chairman of the firm does and he signs my check.

Dope socks!!

Overall I like this look very much. Perhaps a ps that had more light blue or just a plain white one (to tie into the shirt) would work better as I feel the burgundy(?) one you are wearing seems to disconnected from the rest of the fit.
