HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 3556

^^+1 Really like that suit.

It's really warm today...about 40C (100F+) and 75% humidity.  Definitely a linen day.  And perhaps one for a little understatement, colour-wise*, before the Org's battle of the ties tomorrow....

Other bits (Click to show)

*(Socks excepted, obviously...)

I think you have misunderstood my post, perhaps without the context of the ones that preceded it: I was railing against just such nonsense, so in answer to your question: no, I do not believe that such a thing is either possible or desirable. :)

You should come chat in the "Official Wine Thread". We'd love to have you!

Señor Crust, those shoes are doppelgängers for the ones you used to have.

Mimo, my thumbs-up does not include the socks.

Your reservation is duly noted, and thank you. :)

How will getting my moneymaker punched in a roadhouse stoush help me achieve my goal of one day wielding my personality with such great aplomb?

First off, thanks to Steffen and Mimo for your kind comments.

Mister Butch, today's shoes are quite similar to the BB Peals, though the toes are more chiseled, and the lines slightly more elongated than the BB's were. The day that I bought today's shoes, I had schlepped two other pairs of Finsburys (for my partner) with me through the Musee d'Orsay, and then had found the shop Septieme Largeur, without a proper map, and had figured out that the continuation of the Rue St. Lazare was one block over from where it should have been, due to the interference of the Place de la Trinite. I ended up schlepping five pairs of shoes with me through the Metro at rush hour, from the Odeon district to the Gare du Nord, and then through customs on Eurostar (one for myself, two for my partner, and two (from Septieme Largeur) for Bernoulli, with whom I had had lunch at the Ritz in London the day previous). It was quite a day.

It wasn't strictly for the shoes, it was as much (if not more) for the two other gentlemen, both of whom were truly grateful for my efforts.

The amazing drape on your suit might have something to do with it, though. Holland & Sherry seersuckers and pincords from the cotton classics book have a rather significant amount of poly in them, perhaps for the same reason.

I have a thrifted silk sport coat that I'm going to get altered- it's "boxy" looking now. I'm hoping i can wear it this summer. The suit looks great, David!
