Re: the above snap...
What happened to the trademark smile, Holdfast?
Can't mask out selectively easily when my head's tilted like that, so experimented with a different way of covering up. I'm smiling underneath(!)
It's marginally more time-consuming to mask like this, but I think I actually prefer it because it distracts less from the outfit. Whether I continue with it depends on how quickly I get bored doing it.
Unbuttoned, no tie, and a lighter pair of chinos IMO. Maybe even shorts, if the weather's right for it.
Unless you're particularly enamoured of 3pc suits, I think you'd get a nicer visual effect with your build without the waiscoat. YMMV, of course. The chest on the jacket looks a little tight, also. And welcome!
He can correct me if I'm wrong but on my screen, it looks like claps is wearing a dark brown belt with the light brown shoes, not a black one. I think that's the right choice, given the similarly coloured tie. This is an example where matching the belt to the shoes would create too much of a discontinuity at the waist. The "always match" rule is good as a basic advice, but I think needs to be broken judiciously in certain outfits.
