Haha yeah, I remember someone a few pages ago accused Spoo for using a tie and a "pochette" that was too matchy… is this the beginning of some new Spoo? Hahahaha.

Thanks, Claghorn and Pliny, for the feedback.  I've been blogging for almost three years.  There are many people who passionately hate my style and other who love it.  I usually wear a pocket square and a lapel flower everyday and today was a fairly mild day in terms of my matching/coordination.  I'm well aware that this is frowned upon by many and even despised by a few, but it's something I like and do on a regular basis.  I hope this forum will help my style develop nonetheless.  Thanks again for the feedback.  Best.

Yo

I like your blog because you do you. and I think the matching works for you. Please continue to work outside of the #menswear circle jerk. And don't go all Foo on us. YOu follow these guidelines and you will be fine in my book.

no worries-  imo it's a question of degree.  If the matchiness is obvious because the elements themselves are shouters it's distracting-  Yr loud watchband and loud tie, for example.  On the other hand, I was going to check u for the gold buckle - silver bezel mismatch, which is a bit of a no-no imo.  I like it when the matching is more or less subliminal- so it's okay to match items if each is subtle, but not okay if any is a feature item, of which there should only ever be one anyway (unless yr sprezz is SouthernStyle,-  i like yr posts SS  -   in which case every item's off the dial ) smile.gif

I feel remiss asking for advice when I have been slacking on this thread for some time. However, would it be appropriate to wear this color of a jacket with light tan cotton trousers? In the past I wore it with ivory white/medium gray trousers. I just wanted to switch it up and I actually had to sell most of my summer trousers frown.gif

First time I have been to The Style Blogger for ages, and it seems to have improved, largely because it doesn't feature its founder much any more and has more of... well, guys like you who actually dress interestingly. I mean, kudos to him for doing well out of it, but he can't dress for toffee despite what mainstream magazines may think.

No, not the underwear, socks and boutonnier. I have bought he silk carnation at A Suitable Wardrobe on the net. But the rest is vintage or second hand. The same morning I realised that I had a too modern smoking/tuxedo shirt with a "normal" collar, so I hade to find a more classic evening collar. I went out one hour to three second hand shops and found two shirts in my size. This one, a Stenström,  was very little used and the evening collar and double cuffs were starched. It cost 350 SEK ($50). A new Stenström shirt cost 1.350 SEK ($200) at least.
