The wrinkly texture is the point--that's basically what seersucker is. Otherwise, like you said, it'd just be a bengal stripe.

I love seersucker. I'll have to have a seersucker jacket made one of these days.

Yep, and this one does have that texture, but I'm not sure if it's seersucker or just treated cotton, probably because I really haven't seen much seersucker stuff IRL. Next time I'm at my tailor I will compare it with the seersucker in the H&S swatch books. I really like it, though. Feels much cooler than linen, in fact I must be some kind of weirdo because I sweat less in cotton shirts than linen shirts.

I was going to have it made, but my tailor would make it too structured and overall warmer, so went with RTW this time. Feels like wearing two shirts, rather than a shirt and a jacket.

interesting, i thought the shirt, tie and pants were quite nice together, even the shoes. if anything i would say the SC would be beter swapped out for something more casual, not the shirt for something less casual.

@henrycarter: My thoughts (as others have said) is that the SC is too formal/ city for the rest of the outfit. The trousers/shirt/tie look really comfortable and warm with a lot of fuzzy texture for your winter down south. Maybe a textured tweedy SC to go with the outfit with a matte patterned puff PS and a nice pair of brown brogues.

That's how I think a summer jacket should fit. Relaxed and groovy, as it were.

Coincidentally, I'm wearing something similar today. Well, a seersucker jacket and a navy knit at any rate.

I have little or no inner peacock, but I thought I'd give the challenge a try. Turns out I'm disqualified as
a) worn on Thursday (not going into work tomorrow)

b) missing the accessory (was unaware of the specifics of the challenge when getting dressed this morning)

And as a plus, unstructured "shirt-jackets" are washable!

Tomorrow's challenge is so tempting. If I had a straw hat I'd wear it with today's jacket, a blue shirt and a bright orange tie. Too bad I don't have one (or any other unusual accesories for that matter)

Nothing. But there's real flowers out there, you just gave me an idea. I'm sewing a flower loop behind the lapel right now tongue.gif
