This is the result.

If you wore matching pants with the jacket, I suspect the effect would be greatly minimized. As for your being "bottom heavy," I think you overestimate the impact of this on your overall presentation.

If I crop the image and leave only the top part, the shape and location of the armscye still bothers me. I don't know how to explain it, that's the problem. Perhaps I could say it looks too "Richard Anderson", which is a type of cut I hate with a passion.

The way too open quarters are not just the result of being open per-se, but also of a long front balance (which also causes the X at the buttoning point). But yes, future commissions, whoever makes them, will have that fixed.

Anyways, these MTM jackets, while not overly expensive, are  probably a waste of money - they cost more than RTW and I'm still not happy. Might just get a couple decent fitting RTW jackets so I have something to wear this summer (my usual RTW brand is just €200 per jacket), then start saving for Steed or NSM. I'll be happier in the long run, and for some reason I keep coming to the same conclusion.

Well-- I took some chances in NYC yesterday.  I know the collar of my shirt is messed up.  For those of you who have been the same size since college, let me explain:  When your size changes you tend to hold on to the smaller stuff thinking you will get back to that size some day, then you realize that day is far away, so you go spend some money on nicer, larger clothes.  Then you realize 2 of your best friends have had strokes and you aren't getting any younger, so you decide to take care of yourself.  On your trip back to non-obesity you have to make choices like "do I wear this even though it is still a little small on me"  or "do I get this taken in so I can still wear it even though my tailor can't get it perfect"  All that being said, the fit is off a bit (too tight shirt, too big SC)...and I think the tie is a fail.  It looks terrible in the flash shot, better in mirror shot.....I hope I get the Spoilers correct....

RDiaz I am not a fan of Pagoda shoulders in general.

When I first got this jacket I was happy with the shoulder expression, but the more I look at it, the more I dislike the overall silhouette. Can't quite figure out what to do to make future commissions look better, perhaps it's just my body shape. I was thinking some more shoulder extension, leaner chest, less padding, fuller sleeves and more closed quarters, but I can't be sure about the results.

Agree on what you say, but aside from that the combo is good, IMO.

What colour is the jacket? I really want one in that colour. Good outfit too!

I think the pic is over-emphasizing the pagoda effect.

Here's the same jacket:

Na, you don't want to change anything. I am a fan of old french shoulder. I find most people who adore soft shoulders rarely look good in it.

@HD: Way overloaded on the green, but I will say this: at least it's not boring.

great one C. The pose and attitude in the pic make up for any gripe i have on the fit. lengthen the sleeves and it would be a ton better.
