HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 3345

So I found this suit in the back of my closet when I was doing some spring cleaning. To provide some context, I donated a lot of suits, shoes, jackets e.t.c that I don't wear anymore to good will. I found this suit which happens to be the first suit I ever owned. Purchased it over 10 years ago for graduation and for interview's and the suit was in heavy rotation until '05. I ditched it in favor of two button suits which became prevalent stylistically. If I came across this find 2 years ago I would have donated it due to the 3 button set up to be honest. However, after seeing Clag and others I decided to give it a chance and sent it to my tailor. Still not too sure but this suit but it brings back memories..old late night shenanigans after work, bar hopping in Georgetown after work and all.

Yeah, pants hemmed, and the minor sleeve rotation that is required is not worth it. Body fits perfectly. Really nice suit! smile.gif

Today's three-piece suit. Pants are a bit uncommon because they almost reach my navel. A lot of people laugh that it is almost Fred Astaire's style but I like it that way because they hide my belly :D I also had the suspender buttons put on the outside. In the back it prevents the buttons being pressed into my flesh when driving.

Since I've been lifting weights for years, my shoulders are quite large and I use pleats on the back of the shirt to be able to extend my arms easily. The lower back of the shirt is also adjusted to my body architecture.

Below a full view with vest and jacket. The jacket has 3 buttons and diagonal pockets. There are no vents in order to make it better fitted around my hips (this is a bit uncomfy though).

Here you see the lapels on the vest and on the jacket. It's all herringbone! :D

The weather has finally been really nice here the last couple of days, so I decided to bring out a lighter jacket that has been in storage over the winter. Needless to say, once I got to work it almost immediately started to rain baldy[1].gif. So much for spring.....

It's nice to see light over dark done like this. We need more discussion of what to do with all of these lighter sport coats hanging in our closets. I like it.

I think" light over dark" works much better (or really only works) during spring/summer. DerekS did something similar a while back that I really liked. I've had that fit in the back of my mind for a while and decided to try something similar today.....

I like the light coat/dark trousers thing, but I think this might be too much contrast for me. I wish the jacket had been a little darker, or the trousers a little lighter. Other than that, I really liked your tie and PS selection.

I quite like the tie but not with that pocket square. Think a non-white shirt would be better here.

@ Timo: jacket fits very well. I'm not familiar with the Lazio, would like to see more open quarters. By the way your link goes to 'page not found' (might be a good thing as I'm in the NPC!)

@ Choc: don't fear the 3B it looks fine on you.
