This got I lot of love, and I thumbs-upped too because it's very solid. But IMO ideally either the trousers should be paler beige (or better still, mid/pale grey) or, if keeping the khaki trousers, make shirt non-white. As it is, I find the trousers a little too casual in colour for the top half. This may just be a cultural thing; I know khakis are used with a greater variety of outfits in the US than generally would be the case here.

I may just be projecting, but I can almost see the eyes widening & lighting up at the sight of all those bolts. biggrin.gif

You can click them, and they'll open a bigger pic. Not 100% clear of course, as all our amateur fit photography on here is very variable, but certainly big enough to see most of the the details.

Certainly looks too wide, and you know I don't mind a little overhang myself. Difficult to tell whether they're too strong at the moment, given the extra width, but the amount of padding is a personal choice anyway. Tailors can cut the width down. It's not particularly cheap (it's a fairly laborious process I think), and the result is a crapshoot. I've had it done twice as a stop-gap measure with relatively cheap jackets while deciding when & whether to order something more permanent to replace them and was only really happy with the results once (the other time was OK, but not ideal). YMMV, though, I suppose. I went into it with my eyes open about the chances of success (and what I would perceive as a success) and the tailor was honest about it too.

I think some other guys on here have had pads replaced with thinner ones and the shoulder recut to work with the smaller volume. That sounds even more likely to go wrong (and require even more skill to go right) than simply trimming them down in size. I may simply be too risk-averse, but I wouldn't risk either operation on pricier items and would simply sell those to part-fund something new that fits better.

Leaving the shoulder issue aside, the actual look is good. Nice one.

I believe that this is only the second time I've seen a traditional DB gold-buttoned navy blazer look swish on someone. The last time was a dude back at school, for what it's worth.

British Summer Time has finally arrived. The appropriate weather is taking somewhat longer to arrive, but in a change from recent weeks, it was bright & sunny out and I actually was able to go for a walk in the parks without totally freezing. And at least there's actual light in the evenings again. So that's progress...

... looking slightly rumpled as photo taken just after I got back in instead of my usual snap before going out:

Maybe you can go the gym, grow your shoulders a bit and it will fit. laugh.gif

It doesn't look good. I have a jacket I bought at Goodwill that's kind of like that.
