Tie looks like a wiring diagram. Replace. But the rest is OK.

The sport coat is a little 70s in styling (hypertrophied lapels + pocket flaps), but it works. Closure is way, way too high, however. Overall, a very fine look.

That looks kind of stupid, like I matched tie and overcoat, but then again that was another day I was going to Fashion Week a few weeks ago for that uni stuff.
Bespoke overcoat is great fun from immensly heavy Harrison's camelhair/wool with 'Edwardian' back, I have to take a nice image of that some day.

Vest is too high-contrast in relation to the other pieces. Outfit would look great without it, however.

Lack of iPhone self pic skilz is why I don't post pice here.

Isaia
Culturata
Massimo Bizzocchi
Carrot & Gibbs square

Unseen
Black ( I know I know) flannel Coppley
Black Bontoni wholecuts

Awful tie, pocket square is oddly folded, and the breast pocket sits too close to the armscye.

Hanky needs some tucking in, too much tie space between your collar blades (looks like you've unbuttoned the topmost shirt button), windsor knot is dreadful.

This is a fine ensemble. Although I would the jacket had a lower button stance.

Everything Zegna except the shirt: PS mainline.

Doesn't work at all. Worst part is the hanky, but I would let go of the shirt and tie, too.

This is costume, obviously, but very well executed.

Not sure about the shoes and socks, but upper half is very good.

Ivar, it is Not a costume, it is my style, and your choice of words are quite condescending.

I think your style looks great, but in your pictures it seems like your hat is a lot bigger than your face. I can see how that makes it look like a costume. Have you tried wearing a smaller hat?

Here we go again... I think it is better that I don't waste Styleforum space and clog up the forum with the age old big hat debate. It was a good run. Thank you and carry on you wonderful stylish gentlemen . I will continue to wear my big hats in real life.

You could choose to ignore the hat size comments and keep posting pics. Please, do smile.gif

I've never seen nor partaken in a big hat debate. Sorry if I struck a nerve, but you should be able react normally to a mere suggestion of wearing a smaller hat. Why post pictures here if you don't want a critique?

I wish you luck in your search, but will warn you that the tie that I am sporting today is some 18-20 years old, I believe. Patterns for Ferragamo (and Hermes) these days are much smaller-scale - the whimsy is only apparent much closer up.

As for what's underneath, I always wear a cotton undershirt of some sort with turtlenecks. I never wear one with shirts though; go figure. :)

I'm a cat rather than dog person but I was ever going to get a dog, it probably would be a dachshund. Cute little beasties. Still, I prefer cats 'cos they can look after themselves mostly. :)

What do you think about cotton turtleneck shirts? I found a blue one at a local thrift shop that fits me great. I washed it last night and I'm wearing it right now. It's not too warm and I get "the look" anyway. I like wearing it and have never noticed anyone else around here wearing one. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I'll find at least one wool turtleneck at a thrift or get a new one at Jos A Bank (maybe this weekend).

I saw a real cool black cat the other morning sitting on a sidewalk relaxing in the morning sun. Just his eyes were peering out and it looked awesome. That's probably the kind of cat I'd have.

 Snoopy was a dachsund, wasn't he? biggrin.gif

Why post critiques if you haven't even read as far back as four days ago, which was when the last big hat debate started?

Just let' em say what they want, Tibor. Most of us know you have your own style and this is the Styleforum, after all...

Naturally I don't read this thread every day. Like I said, I apologize for hurting his feelings, and I understand the hat is off-limits and will refrain from commenting on it in the future. Maybe he should state in his sig that we're not allowed to talk about his hat, so newcomers won't make the same mistake as I did? Apparently people take critiques a lot more personally than they're meant here, so let's not waste any more time on this matter and continue with posting great pictures.

I also vote for Tibor sticking around.
