I love this. I really dig the tie.
The tie, something about the tie is preventing me from liking this. I'm not sure if it's the pattern scale matching up with the hank, or if it's the color. I love that close-up of the fabric though, great SC.
Awesome stuff man, congratulations on the daughter. For a long time I wasn't sure if you'd be able to get one past the goalie...I'm glad that wasn't the case smile.gif Outfit looks sharp as hail.

Here's today's effort. Two maiden voyages going on here, and one second outing.

Shirt - BB linen/cotton blend. Second time wearing, and man does this bad boy breath. Awesome for S/S.
Tie - Chipp grenadine in purple. First grenadine purchase, along with one in Rust.
Pants - Boss wool cargo in charcoal. These are really versatile, although some guys wouldn't wear them in a business setting.
Shoes - Grenson.

Love the tie and nice jacket!

Last MTM jacket experiment, with higher armholes, very lightly padded and roped shoulders, roomier waist, and open quarters. Smoked MOP buttons.

Will probably close the quarters a bit (or make them less rounded), and try to ask them not to make the lapels so "rounded" for future commissions; but overall I'm rather happy. For the price I paid, it doesn't get much better than this.

Strangely enough, this jacket fits better on my right shoulder than on my left - it's always been the other way round.

I'm sure that many readers of this thread have read Phat Guido's guide to a good fit. But in case anyone has not seen it, here are some of his words of wisdom. You can read the entire essay at this link: http://mostexerent.tumblr.com/post/46458890104/still-getting-emails-messages-about-fit-basics

"There is no actual quantum science or empirical measure as we are all blessed with different body proportions as shapes.

But in my opinion it is best to understand your body proportions & shape then adhere to some certain guidelines not rules to make you look your best:

Jacket MUST cover your ASS
Sleeves of jacket should be no shorter than the natural flex point - where your hand meets your wrist (I will elaborate on my technique later) & not past where your thumb meets your hand
Jacket MUST cover your ASS
Shoulder of jacket not sit before or no more than 2cm from the end of your natural shoulder
Jacket MUST cover your ASS
Body of jacket not be so tight that you look like an extra from some bad commercial shoot of certain ‘FASHUN’ brands or Men’s “STYLE” magazines
Jacket MUST cover your ASS
The actual buttoning point at your natural waist (give or take a cm, lower is better) & you natural waist is roughly where your belly button is. DO NOT GET CONFUSED with wearing jeans as they tend to sit on YOUR HIPS, unless you have progressed to Grown Man Style dungarees wink.gif
Jacket MUST cover your ASS
Pants should sit as close as possible to your natural waist (see above) - pants are not jeans
Jacket MUST cover your ASS
Good tailoring is not tight fitting, good tailoring provides movement
Jacket MUST cover your ASS"

Thought I posted this yesterday, but I think something went wrong with the approval...

Anyway, showing off my new Gucci loafers.

Today, I've overdosed on anachronistic details (tab collar shirt, Homburg, lace-up boots), but, I like it - it suits my mood today. God knows what Phat Guido would say - "exerent" or execrable - though I can assure you that my jacket does cover my ass. satisfied.gif

Suit & shirt - BB MTM
Tie - Charvet
Cufflinks - London Badge & Button Co.
Boots - Paul Stuart (Grenson Masterpiece)
Topcoat - JAB
Scarf - BB
Hat - Selentino, via JJ Hat Center

new tie thursday
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

new chocolate raw silk by Vanda.....G and his wife outdo themselves...Absolutely LOVE these ties. Light, perfect drape and length, beautifully constructed.
Square is EG Cappelli, noname sportcoat, panta trous and G&G Hoves.

The shirt collars are a miss for me i think...a bit too small for my tastes. Thoughts?
