Kind of pleased with my new socks though.... Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

This is great. The tie is really lovely, where is it from?

It's an old Holliday & Brown tie, can't remember where I got it from, most likely eBay a while ago.

H&B is a really underrated brand, but they kind of fell of the radar a few years ago when they were bought by some Italian company. Don't know if they are still around, actually.

A few things I noticed in LDN

- Didn't realize I would run into so many cake face bandits here. They rival the ones I see in Jersey

- This place is way cleaner than NYC

- In all my travels I have never experienced culture shock until I hit Heathrow. It sounds cute when you hear one British accent in the midst of Americans or from the token Brit on that one American tv show. It is quite overwhelming when everyone around you sounds like that. This place makes me realize how "American" I am. Never felt that way anywhere else.

lol, I hadn't heard this term before, but I think I know exactly what you mean. It's generally the girls under 20 or around that age that have taken to plastering themselves with make-up especially over the past few years. From what I remember, it never used to be so evident. I suspect these things move with changing fashions.

Hope you're enjoying the UK!

Tricky day to dress for. Had to go to court for some work, and didn't want to look as if I'm a lawyer, but still wanted to show some basic respect for the setting. Sober & smart but otherwise casual everything, except for the loud shirt, and no square, seemed the way to go:

I am unfamiliar with the term "cake face bandits", but it sounds a very colorful expression indeed.

FWIW, I've been going to London for nearly 30 years, some 20+ visits, and I never feel as American as when I'm there - and my accent isn't even that 'Murican (so says my UK-raised partner).

Glad that you're having fun.
