Then I'm not expressing myself well enough. From the start I stated that it's my opinion, Foo express himself as if his opinions were rules, and in the last post I asked for your opinion on the matter. If that is being rigid, what is being flexible for you?
Going back to the shirt collars. Well, it's true that old english man used rigid collars for all outfits, but there's a specific configuration (spread, point, etc...) for each venue? I'm truly interested on why you, and presumably others, find that those rigid collars are fine with casual suitings.
so...question is why i prefer this collar to a button down? because i like the collars better. simple as that. I dont adhere to rigid rules about a casual suit requiring a certain collar. its a suit. wear a dress shirt with it. Like ive said, i consider OCBDs to be very casual. id never wear em with a tie, let alone a suit. Typically, i dont like button down collars. why? because i dont like them. no reason, i didnt read it in a rule book, i didnt find the reason on the internet. it wasnt mentioned in a foo thread. I pick what i like based on the whether or not I like it.
