Spoo, one day will you have a peak lapel 2 button chalkstripe suit with a peak lapel double breasted waistcoat made so I can marvel at it? Please!!!!!

 Not likely my friend.

I would love to see this outfit again but preferably with a light flannel charcoal trouser...maybe herringbone. Also a different pocket square maybe yellow or purple would go very nicely with the green tie. Maybe even a red and yellow paisley pocket square. Just some thoughts.

 Maybe the pictures don't show, but the pants are a light charcoal herringbone.

However, Ive noted this problem with myself before, and 99% of the time it comes from wearing SCs as opposed to suits. Ive weeded out most of them from rotation, and prefer to balance at least 3/5 workdays in a suit.

Thank God! Brown is for the farmer :hide:

Way to try and make it work, Dig. I know what you're attempt is here so I'll excuse the black shirt. Just realize approving of any look involving a black shirt goes against everything I know :embar:. Still, I soldier on.
Only thing I would caution with this look is to not rub your employer the wrong way. Lest, you end up as an actual example of this thread.

...Dig - listen to bourbonbasted unless you genuinely don't care about any potential friction/risk that may result because you have other options. If the latter case, enjoy cocking a snook!...

Thanks, gentlemen but no worries. I will walk close to the edge without jumping into the abyss of joblessness. Just a bit of nose tweaking before full compliance kicks in.

Trial Bespoke shirt. Need a slightly wider collar and tighter barrel cuffs. New tie. Drake's via A Suitable Wardrobe. New pocketsquare. Simonnot-Godard via A Suitable Wardrobe.

Edit: I should probably let everybody know that I just threw this on for the pic and I am not wearing any pants. I knew you all would like that.

Well.
Now I will have to pay closer attention to the things you say.

I can see you cruisin' down 110th Street to some Bobby Womack in this. You floss very well Sir.

Thank you, Tibor, but considering the source of yesterday's suit, I'd be just as likely to be cruisin' down Threadneedle St. to Handel's "Zadok the Priest" - that look is very City of London.

It's like you're all grown up. I like the dopey curley-q on the hanky. He and I do that sometimes.
Consider a bit more tie space at the collar...a matter of personal taste, but still.
Overall, though, I really like it.

Yeah, I am going to ask for more space, that was the first thing that I said to myself. Thanks for the compliments though. I feel growed-up. From the waist up :embar:

It is funny you mention the square loop-d-loop. I have had in my head what you said about just not giving it thought and shoving it in there with an edge showing. That's basically exactly what I did and walla!

+1. But please don't make that collar any more spread.

:plain:

Looks pretty good Patrick, maybe a slightly wider tie with larger knot to suit your lapel width.
and then of course it's just the hair that gets in the way all the time. :embar:
Nothing a good cut, thinning out and style couldn't fix!! :slayer:
Would probably still need a goodish dab of gel to keep it all together though. :nodding:

A wider knot? Blasphemy!

Now I will have to pay closer attention to the things you say.

Be careful about that. But when in doubt ass ole' HelmetheadBOOTH!

Top five pieces of liturgical music ever written IMHO. Spem in Alium (Tallis) = #1, De Profundis (Part) =#2, Zadok (Handel, duh) =3, Requiem in D minor (Faure, I like the Libera Me the best), Ave Maria (Biebl).

AKA I like your taste in music as much as your taste in clothing.

I like the palette. Really wish I could rock it.

Thank you. "Zadok the Priest" is the piece sung at the beginning of every choral concert given at St. Martin's in the Fields in London (at least in my experience), and, apparently from the program notes for the concert, it has been sung at the coronation of every British monarch since George II.

I am unfamiliar with the Tallis, the Faure, and the Biebl, though I am sure that I've got a recording of the Faure somewhere in my apartment.

This would be a really nice outfit for a sunny/daytime fun event, like a celebratory lunch or as a wedding guest. Assuming you wore the trousers too, that is...

The tie is just festive enough for formal frivolity. Do you really need tighter cuffs on the shirt? Might bug you in the long term if they get too tight, esp. if you have different watches. Less of a concern with french cuff shirts, because you'll tend to wear those with slim watches only, but barrel cuff shirts you may end up wearing casually and so need a slightly larger cuff.

I make it a point to always look like a part of me might be attending a wedding. I prefer tighter cuffs. I just think it looks better when you cannot see up ones sleeve. I never wear a watch anymore so it is of little concern.
