HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 3071

IMHO, Stillig, that falls down just the wrong side of the dandy / over-sprezzed divide. I think it's the scarf that just tips it over, because the jacket is great. And it's usually pretty safe to say that if Hampton likes it, it's probably wrong in some way! satisfied.gif

You made the lapels even more narrow? Not sure that was the right move, but that's not for me to decide. Those are quite some shoulders for a skinny lapel. I think the lapel needs more meat to balance out the shoulder.

No offense, but as one of the resident peacocks in here... I have to say this is all kinds of wrong... It is all over the place. They pieces are nice by themselves... but together, combinations are off and jarring... not in a good way, and they are fighting with each other. i would suggest browsing the peacock thread for some inspiration on lethal combinations. As of right now though, unfortunately,  it looks  like you were  dressed by tumblr.

Thank you, Sir.

Today, a bit of to-ing and fro-ing outside, winter is firmly over (heading back to 30C already, another 20 to go!), so back to half-lined linen:

No. Jacket/tie/PS/shirt = nice, use of scarf = awkward (why not put it outside the SC?), pents = painted on, shoes = meh, chain = WTF WERE U THINKERN?!

I can see your knee bones. This is conclusive proof that the pants are too tight.

So I tend to post more on the SWD side of the forum, but as many know, I recently got married back in December. I've now gotten the full batch of photographs in my our photographer and figured I'd share these here:

Menswear shots from the wedding

Everyone wore their own clothes for the wedding but the ties were all purchased from Kent Wang and gifted to the guys.

From left to right: Our officiant is standing farthest left and wearing a burgundy grenadine tie. My best man wore an Epaulet suit in “cadet grey” (now discontinued), a glen plaid tie, and Allen Edmonds shoes. I wore a special-order Epaulet (Southwick for Michael Kuhle) suit in charcoal grey flannel, a shepard’s check tie, and Bexley shoes. My wife’s best man (yes, we made a couple non-traditional choices) wore a RLBL suit and a houndstooth tie.

For anyone considering a MTO suit from Epaulet, I would definitely recommend it. I was really happy with how the charcoal flannel DB came out. Mike had a few such fabrics and I told him to just pick whichever he thought would be best. The one I ended up with has a really fantastic hand and drape, plus while it is properly thick as a flannel fabric should be, it's not so thick that I can't wear it most of the year in LA. The ordering process was really easy, and I liked being able to add features like the ticket pocket and smoke mother of pearl buttons (the latter at Mike's suggestion).

It was cool too that my best man wore his Epaulet suit. I've got the same one -- this is the old "Desmond" model that was their first foray into sport coats. It's fused, so it's not at the level of quality of the current offerings, but it's a really cool shape that I've always liked -- slightly more British in a couple of ways.

Congratulations, SVB!  Your suit is definitely the best-fitting, as well as the most original.  May you and Mrs VB live long and happy. :)
