Sort of. Yesterday was sloppy habit, today I basically have to. The vest is short enough that if I didn't button the last button there's the risk of the trouser waist band peeking through - mostly a consequence of me being tall and the suit being RTW. I prefer my other MTM suits where the bottom button is made so that it can't be buttoned.

I'm kinda down with this. Some around here have a prejudice against having your tie and PS as the only things with a pattern but I think this looks good. Only thing is the shirt. Seems like it has kind of a satin sheen to it. Is that correct or is it just the picture? Anyway, if it is a bit shiny I think I would have gone another direction. On the whole I really like it.

shirt is definitely not shiny at all...just the pic. Shirt is a standard light blue cotton Borrelli.

I had a tough time with a square...i dont really like solid squares...especially with solid shirts/sportcoats. I figured this was subtle enough to work. Thanks for the kind words!

Then I definitely like the shirt with this! I am with you on the solid PS thing. I make an exception for white (obviously), cream, and light blue (dunno why I have a light blue solid PS but I like it). Yours in this case is a winner IMO!

Try dark-ish solid gray suit, dark grenadine tie (black, navy, purple). That shirt needs to be the most interesting thing in the fit.

Thanks for the input. I am definitely going to try that. I'm beginning to develop a stubborn tenacity in trying to make this shirt work.

Love the tie, but it is a pretty formal pattern--I wonder if it might look better with a suit. Not a huge fan of the PS, but you already mentioned that smile.gif

Great tie though, I really need to get one. Black/white ties look so good with blue. And I love the collar on that shirt.

I believe I am in violation of several SF statutes:

I'll take that as an "I might be amenable to such a thing."

You are the first person I've seen get that.

Sheepy: Is that a purple striped shirt?

No, blue.

thanks! I actually think the tie is a little too casual for a suit. while the pattern may be formal, its kind of a shlubby wool.
