Exactly.  A close-fitting white tee is just the thing; even if you're getting sweaty, it dissipates the moisture away from your armpits and stops you getting that wet patch under your arms.  Now, I've never seen the point of a singlet type vest in that regard.  But a tee-type undershirt is an essential for me these days.

There's another benefit too: I find it makes your shirt wrinkle less during the day, so it's not just about sweaty underarms.  It keeps you looking clean and sharp too.  And about two weeks' worth of pure cotton undershirts costs about the same as one pair of Marciolani socks.  So why not, eh?

You might sweat heavily with the undershirt and not so heavily without it. That's my case. But well, that might be just different for each person.

Indeed, nice to see Mr. Dawg back, and yes, living with a subject of Her Majesty, I can say with certainty that a "singlet vest" is the UK term for a "wife beater".

US term > UK term

Sage green cords and burg Weejuns below. Cropped rather tightly, I know, but if anyone has feedback I'd love to hear it.

New trousers (Ede MTM; I can't bring myself to pay bespoke prices for odd trousers. Especially not for mustard yellow trousers):

Thanks. It is cashmere (William Lockie). Possibly unfortunately given your approval of the alternate version you outlined, it's actually beige ("linen") not white, and it's fairly loose, not tight. Having said that, it is essentially colour-accurate in the pics above, so I will shamelessly accept the positive comments anyway. wink.gif
