it's actually an Igbo chief hat. Since I am Yoruba most Igbo folks might pop a vein seeing me wear one but they are too cool not to.

Here are some examples of me wearing the hat

I had a teacher that was Igbo and married a Hausa man. Did not go over well with her family.

I like mafoos coat. what I don't like are his giant cuffs. cuffs are for tall people.

Thoughts on the square? I figured plain white would be weird with an off-white shirt, and this is what I've been reaching for when I want a less-stark equivalent to plain white. Good idea or bad?

I like your outfit except for the shirt and the collar that looks all squishy squashy pulling on the buttons... Maybe wear it to the beach (without a tie) over your speedo, with slip slops..

I do think your SC tie and PS look good together.

Really good outfit Ace, I like it a lot. It looks really fresh, unfussy and modern IMO.

Big thing is, it looks like you own it (comfortable and relaxed) and not the other way around..

I don't think your SC is too tight or too short. It doesn't pull anywhere i can see, and it reaches your knuckles +-10mm.

Also, nice, simple white shirt and PS... all part of fresh and cool.

Foo, great coat! I'm a little confused about its formality level though. I guess you're planning on wearing this with formal suits (which, in my mind, already is a stretch) but not black tie?

More vintage. All is from the 1940´s except the new silk carnation from A Suitable Wardrobe. The suit is from Granditer´s, London. The tie from Bond street.

It's officially bloody cold in NYC this morning - hence the hat. An ushanka would not have gone amiss this morning, either.

Suit - BB MTM
Shirt - Lewin
Tie - Paul Stuart
PS - Robert Talbott
Cufflinks - Deakin & Francis, via Barney's NYC
Shoes - Heschung, via Barney's NYC
Overcoat - BB
Scarf - Old England, Beauchamp Place, London
Hat - Seifter Associates

I'd wear it with anything but black tie. Works as well over a business suit as over an odd jacket or even a sweater.
