HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III - Page 2890

It's raining in NYC, so suit-wearing is out. I've been wearing this combo of SC and trousers for a while - it's due a visit to the dry cleaner's soon, but perhaps it's presentable enough for this thread. Please note the SF-approved touches of robo-pose, and the use of a solid brown tie.

Sports coat, trousers, shirt - BB
Tie - JAB
PS - Robert Talbott
Shoes - Finsbury, Paris
Raincoat - Burberry
Scarf - Johnstons of Elgin
Hat - Weatherproof

I generally do too, but a knot should fit within the collar, not look like it is bursting at the seams.

so I just used the Windsor(Which is my usual knot for ties of that shape) and ran out the door as 6 this morning. I know, I know, being late is no excuse for sartorial slobbishness shog[1].gif

at least you realize the error. now you must buy 5 ties for forgiveness!

Yeah, even with the spread collar, I agree this does not look great. A double FIH would have worked much better IMO. This knot is just huge.

Is it just me? I like Windsor knots, but I don't think they really look good with knit or wool ties.

i tie a half windsor almost exclusively, but i rarely see a full windsor that works. even on a thinner material tie where its not too think, i dont like the shape of the triangle it creates. but thats just me.

I don't really like Windsor knots at all, they almost always create too large of a knot.

Half Windsors arent bad, but the FIH is where it's at.

I actually used to tie full Windsors exclusively... And then I realized I looked like a clown with that huge knot below my face.

Sorry I did not see your question yesterday. Pants are just cotton Incotex, not moleskine.
