Welcome! Not too bad is a fair assessment. The triangle of shirt/tie showing beneath the button is less than ideal, and a less boldly patterned shirt would work better with the tie.

That's a challenging fabric, ace, but worth the effort. What you've chosen seems to work well. (I'm assuming that's a blue shirt.)

Charcoal brown trousers and an ecru shirt might be a variation you could try, assuming you have those items in your closet. What you've chosen is certainly fine it the SC, and as Sugarbutch said, a challenging fabric, but attractive.

I can do that, great idea. Thank you.

I keep wanting to put it with a pink shirt - probably a pinpoint or something with minimal texture, navy grenandine, charcoal trousers, and mid brown shoes. I could be off my rocker though.

I'd pair it with a steel drum, some kerosene, and a match biggrin.gif

It fits well though. That fabric, not my cup o tea

I think that could be cool -- but I'd consider a pink oxford and a navy knit with white dots. That might be totally off the deep end, though.

Claghorn, the jacket doesn't have the verve it needs to keep up. A more-textured blazer in a bluer navy, with strongly contrasting buttons, would be cool (and in that case the high-roll 3 button stance would work for me), but right now, it reads as a plain worsted with matching buttons, and the rough trousers and tie are fighting in a tougher league.

Nice outfit Mobbie. I thought I would tighten your tie a little, but you could do it even more. I also adjusted the colour of your pocket square. Gave it a brown border, adding more contrast. Tell me what you think.

"Good at second glance" is one of the nicest compliments imho.

I missed the multi-quote button, but the fit a few up...dark suit w/ grey cardigan and brown suede shoes...awesome!icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Sorry, Cardigan is blue, but noticeably different from shirt and suit.

First, cuffs on your trousers. I think this is about the best combination you can have with this jacket. You might try classic chinos, brown flannel, raw denim. Anything that has the right level of formality and is mid- to dark coloured. Pink shirt could also work nicely, depending on the shade. And a different PS! This is white linen I assume? Dark wool or silk prints would be good.

Sure does, the guy said he was trying to improve, so i gave him my thoughts on the matter graphically. Also, the demon is in the details..

For me, this is just the wrong side of the last series of Mad Men. And that's speaking as someone who isn't averse to pattern or colour.
