Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) alright, try number two today with a better collar. I was a little iffy about the pocket square, but didnt have another option besides white... should i have gone without? also is it too quasi-monochromatic? only my second post, trying to get this suit stuff figured out.
The shirt is too dark. I daresay it has no place in a jacket-and-tie context.

I can't make up my damn mind about trousers. For some reason, chinos and moleskins like these I'm wearing today look better in a slim cut, and I'm inclined to think that if they were flannel and draped properly they would look great; but then I try to wear slim dress trousers and they look like breeches, so I switch to a fuller cut... don't know what's wrong.
Diaz, in case anyone is interested (Click to show)
Yes, trousers are too tight. Also, it might be the photo, but I'm not digging the conflict between the green pants and green tie.
1) Tie is too light
2) PS is too dark; trousers would look/drape better with a cuff
3) Trousers need more rise so we aren't seeing that triangle of shirt below the jacket button
4) Scarf does not work
No on the scarf, though I am growing more intrigued with the silk scarf/no tie/sportcoat look.

Thanks for the feedback. Oddly enough trousers don't really feel tight other than at the hips, and very slightly (in fact they are a size 38 when I usually wear a size 35-36), it must be the photo and the drape (or lack thereof).
What colour tie would you wear with this? Think a madder red (dark) would have worked?

scarf was specifically to keep me warm. And i do agree on the silk scarf look. IVe always kinda liked it, but lately, ive found myself looking for madder paisley scarves.

Thanks butch. for 1, what color shirt would you suggest with that tie? ive had a rough time finding something that works.

I think something like a maroon would look great there, especially with the grey.
The scarf sucks. And I thought we gave up on the Thom Browne method of wearing our jawnz?
I will ask for opinion on the tie below with today's outfit only because I was about to pull the trigger on it (it's shorter length, which would be the icing on the cake).
Probably better with a solid or bengal stripe blue shirt, though:
with longwings? or cuffed? if yorue referring to length, youve seen thes...... theyre long as an old mans ballsack.
Personally, I think these look too tight around the thighs to be flattering. ymmv, i suppose.
For the first, I like the tie, but not within this particular fit. It's just about fine, but if the brown were a few shades darker, and the white was a softer cream, I think I'd dig it more. But I still like the overall look; it's my fave of the four.
I know lots of people like black ties with everything, but personally I think it's too dark against that suit. If it was a charcoal chalkstripe; great. Also, and this is purely personal, I prefer that kind of cloth either as a DB or a 2pc, not a 3pc. 3rd look is fine, but a bit more contrast between jacket & trousers would be even better (might just be the photo lighting at play here, though). Blue shirt, maybe? Fourth look, in contrast to everyone else, I actually really like the scarf; the pattern, the colour, the leerinesss are all great. But I'm not a fan of the rest of the look. Then again, I'm terrible at judging any outfit jeans, so take that into consideration.
Got that Friday feeling; happened to arrive at a former workplace just while they were having their Christmas lunch, so was able to crash that and snaffle plenty of free food. And catching up with some folks I know there was cool too. :)
Pocket square is new; it's a soft/brushed silk in madder with an abstract paisely-ish design. Difficult to tell from the snap, I know, but oh well.
