I like the pieces individually, but something just seems a bit off all together. It still looks quite nice, don't get me wrong. It just seems like there's something a tad off.

The jacket just looks a touch big (Read "heavy").  It could also be due to the slightly odd posture with the arms sticking out, makes it look more like a heavy overcoat on you.

MoL, the fit seems a tad off, but it very well may be the pic, i hate fit pics. almost impossible to get right, especially when taking the pic yourself. as to the colors and textures, i think its great.

Hah, I dunno if I'll ever make money to justify that. I think I've said it before, but it's just the fact that you manage to take bold colors/pieces and get them to seem entirely natural.

first post here, not exactly a fit pic. the cuff on the left arm is usually showing better, and i did push that PS down into my pocket further before heading out the door. anyway, looking for some feedback on the suit/overall look. I am young and cant afford the really good stuff yet, but i try to make due with what i have. anyways, I know the drill, I am an ignorant newbie here, so tear me to shreds smile.gif

ian, looks good. i think a tie with more contrast would have made this outfit great. why did you go with that tie if you dont mind me asking?

Note that the inclusion of braces occurred prior to realizing that BB hadn't put in brace buttons (an error I will have corrected in due time).

Think this hat would work well with cargo shorts, t-shirt, and slippers?

A nice day out from all the studies. Really pleased to find this place, 'entry cost' appears to be lower then Red Chambers.

The jacket looks ok, but the shirt collar seems to not be fitting very well, so the tie knot is standing low. Also a higher collar shirt would look great you.

Overall, very nice. One simple thing that will fix/improve things immediately is a better fitting shirt. I'd try a shirt collar 1/2 size smaller. A higher fitting shirt collar (and a better tie knot) will make that tie disappear at the waist. Also, a better shirt collar will bring more balance to the coat. . The shoulders look clean and well fitting. The coat seems to fit you well--waist, length etc... You are slim and probably would have no problem fitting into any off the rack coat or suit. Small detail: it looks like there are flaps on your pockets. If so, one is tucked in. Also, with that basic, neutral color of the coat, you might want to experiment with a darker tie.

It's not the fancy, expensive label. It's the fit.

Here is an excellent article, that I need to re-read myself, by Thomas Mahon, an English bespoke tailor. It has lots of useful and sage advice. http://www.englishcut.com/archives/000101.html

I hope this is useful.

This is one of your all-time best posts. The mix of color, pattern, and texture is interesting and clever. I love everything about this--especially the color and fabric of the tie. Also, I'm intrigued by all those scarves hanging over the chair.
