SeamasterLux, in theory the wool tie and suede shoes rusticize your city look in a bad way, but in practice and for some reason I still love it. Looks fresh...

700 Fred Astaire in You'll Never Get Rich, 1941 (from Wikipedia)

Thank you FillW for an interesting link about button hole flowers and boutonnieres. But my primary question remains. How can I fasten a carnation as Fred Astaire did, pointing forward. Anyone that knows - or is it a forgotten knowledge?

You still need to get that jacket taken in man. It makes you look blocky.

Dig the shoes.

I don't think it should be taken in, it's starting to pull already on the top button. It's looking blocky because the cut is off for his body shape. Wide peak lapels like that need a longer line so both could have a slightly higher peak and a lower button stance, which would lengthen the lapel and have a more slimming effect.

Seamasters above is a good example, though admittedly hard to see in the light.

That's a bit what Luxembourg is about actually, a financial city in the country side. I guess I'm becoming like the country crackup[1].gif
