What is the consensus on high waisted trousers? I hesitate about getting a pair made, since I am not sure if they would work with my proportions.

I dont see you needing much more than a 12' rise to achieve the look you are after without looking silly. You're probably wearing a 10-11' rise in your photos?  Try a 12, high but not to high.

 

Imo, a higher rise looks good on folks with a longer torso (obviously) and those that are athletic with broad shoulders.  Your proportions are very good, so dont go overboard.

I'd say very definitely that you could wear a high waist trouser. But....no belt loops!

You're looking great, but would look even better with higher rise imho. I've tossed all my pants with mid to low rise (except for jeans and casual chinos) for higher rise pants, and will never look back. I think we're about the same build BTW.
