There is snow on the ground. Thus, Shetland Sunday afternoon. The color is "moss green". It seems to take on different colors depending on the light. Or, as in the case of today, no light.
The fabric of the (Spirit of Shetland) sweater against the Epaulet gray, donegal trouser.
I like the beefy collar of this sweater.
Bundled up. Sterlingwear current issue Mil-Spec--all buttoned up, collar popped. The current issue only uses seven buttons on the front. A cost cutting measure by the U.S. Navy? Edited by clarinetplayer - 11/25/12 at 1:38pm

You know, I've seen two of them lately and it was bugging the shit out of me that I couldn't figure out what the fuck was wrong with them. Its surprising to me that they'd go away from the classic design like that just to save $1 per jacket.

I have one I purchased at a navy surplus with seven buttons in the same positions. It's definitely not current spec as you'll see by the tag and the chalked in last name of the original wearer.
Caveat: Unless a button, unbeknownst to me, in the course of the coat's life, has popped off.
kai - i really like the color combos, but the fit/pitch of the jacket looks a bit off. idk, maybe just your stance. anyhow, happy holiday, hope you enjoyed.
Hello kai, I like the colors as well, especially your choice of tie for the holiday. Nice! I think the lower buttoning point serves well to lengthen your frame, but to my eye if that buttoning point was an inch higher, the jacket would appear more balanced IMHO.
