You could get the stitch repaired. I have had this done on many ties.

(thanks for the tip; I'll look into it, but I've no idea who could do it near me. I don't think a dry cleaner could do it, and I can't imagine Ede will want to mess around with ties, though I guess I should ask).

I appreciate the comment. FWIW, though, this is one of my shorter ones. Only one other suit that I wear regularly has a jacket shorter than this one, and only by 1/4". No offense to you or anyone else here, but I have just about decided to ignore comments on my jacket lengths. They all feel fine to me, and I suspect the comments are influenced as much by camera angle and the commenter's preferences as anything else.
