I really like this look, it is a good example for a bit more generous cut. I had a couple of questions...
Did you choose to add the ticket pocket? If it was your call, had you considered omitting it? I think it looks good on there, but I don't think it would have crossed my mind to add it.
Fom what material did you make your hat?

Thank you guys, I definitely appreciate the comments. Agreed on the PS, I was using it for the first time and I realize there might be too much graphic + colors involved. I'm loving that forum more and more. I've gone through the first 20000 posts of this thread over the week-end and learned a great deal already.
Have a nice day, it's raining in Luxembourg! (I guess it's nothing compared to NY: good luck to Spoo and others NYC inhabitants)
Very nice ! Perfect width of the lapels considering your silhouette
If you use your thumb to cover the hat from above the hat band, the brim looks good, and the rest of the outfit works well, but when you reveal that giant bulbous crown it just looks overly cartoonish and I am reminded of a member of the Ant Hill Mob from the Wacky Races.

So, neither of you has worked out that he's trying for a period look?

if you imagine his face swapped with that of paulie walnuts suddenly the look works...

I get that.
Unfortunately he looks about 12 so to these old eyes it looks like Paul Muni's great-grandson found a trunk in the attic.
I think maybe an approach like Lapo's; take the classic elements of grandpa's wardrobe and add a personal twist would be better suited to him than just a slavish imitation of a period's fashion, especially if the period is a very stylized one like the 1930's.
Again, my opinion.
Is that the Domenico Spano silk suit I used to own? I sold it to someone a while back, but it didn't work out for them size-wise IIRC. If it's the same one, I'm delighted it eventually found its way to you. You wear it far better than I ever did. I always loved the glamorous cut/details. Really glad you're going to enjoy wearing it for years to come.
Early start today. You don't need to see my sleepy expression... :p
