Thanks for that pic Gnatty, which serves to disprove all that bollocks about top must be darker than bottom and navy trousers don't work. It all looks good to me, my only minor gnattpick would be a smaller block checked shirt to match the level of formality of the rest of the outfit.

Darker jacket almost always looks better.

In the case of gnatty's grey jacket, lighter pants (cream is really the only option) would look weird in a fall weight so dark pants make sense.


Navy is too flat for the pants in an SC ensemble. Picture a shade lighter - its more casual (like the SC itself) and a little more interesting.
