Both the tie and PS are "ancient". The tie is by Breuer. The PS is older than Zadok the Priest. I think I got it from Van Boven's in Ann Arbor. Thanks for the thumbs up!

Mention of "Zadok the Priest" brought back most pleasant memories of concerts at St. Martins-in-the-Fields in London, at which "ZadoK' is performed as the opening number for choral concerts there - rather like "The Star-Spangled Banner" at a baseball game. (For the non-musicians reading this thread, George Friedrich Handel wrote a setting for this Biblical passage in 1727, for the coronation of George II, and it's been performed at every British coronation ever since. Van Boven's must have been open for a LONG time, no?

)Van Boven's has been a University of Michigan campus landmark since 1921. It is located in a charming arcade reminiscent of so many European cities.

Thanks!About the cardigans: I like 'em. The perfect in-between-thing for autumn. You don't want to wear a sweater, but it's chilly without? Just take your cardigan!

The tie was my grandfathers favourite. According to the label, it's a "signé incognito" 100% silk tie from italy. Besides the emotional value, i just love the color and how they still shine after all the years.

An actual fit pic. Sorry the shoes didn't make it into the shot. I can save some the effort of commenting on the voluminous pants. Yep, they're a generous cut and sit right at my belly button. I like 'em that way. This is where o/o and I overlap. In fact, I could easily imagine his wearing something very similar.

Suit is about 7 years old; a MTM Hickey Freeman that, unfortunately, is now too big on me. Shirt, Ledbury. Tie, Bruer. PS is very ancient. I don't remember who made it.

Your tie is nice, a contender for awesome. Clarinet's was almost awesome but outdone by the awesomeness of his suit. ElDuderino's tie was out-awesoming the rest of his kit, and certainly a borderline contender for awesomeness. But more awesome, and incontrovertible contenders for purely tie-based awesome, are clearly in demand.
I'm not sure there were many "ugly" ties out there. Even Holdfast's tie isn't really inherently ugly, just unfortunately juxtaposed perhaps. Well OK, it was a bit ugly. But not ugly ugly.
Then again, I have some shark skin saddles, on dull AE lasts, with green laces. Me and ugly have a weird romance sometimes.
Do carry on. Sorry.
