Nice, Spoo.

PeeTeeDub: For you, I say you can rock the vest solo, but I'd still prefer it with a jacket. However, I can't really endorse the belt buckle's showing beneath the vest. That's not so great.

Thanks, Burbonbasted, I appreciate the comment. Decided to let out the hem and switch to the pants for a fashion industry party tonight. I'm not sure Tommy Lee Jones would take it as much of a complement as I do,

SugarButch, I'll wear suspenders. Thanks

These jackets are quite well made for the price, I've dissected a few of them that became too big on me. They are half canvassed and sell for €165 - €300 depending on the fabric (I got this one on sale for €120, it's half-lined wool). It needs to hit the tailor for shoulder adjustment though.

what do you think about Bere Casillas?

"Really nice. But what's going on with the shoulders?"

Padded Southwick American shoulders and holding up the camera.

Question, can a satin backed vest be worn without a jacket?

Answer: Not in polite company.

Is it just me or do 99% of the pics in WAYWT not actually show the fit? Seems like there's a lot of selective cropping going on ....

Also, does anyone critique anything on this thread anymore, because amongst the good there is a ton of suck.

Is their room for questionably constructive criticism here anymore? Niidawg used to regularly issue pretty friendly criticisms and just as regularly get strafed over it.

on the one hand, i would certainly agree with you, that it seems like that. on the other hand, i personally find it very hard to get a pic that really projects what i look like irl, especially using my iphone camera. i dont crop anything besides the mess in the room, but i definitely try and pick a picture that best represents what my fit actually looks like.

that being said, if the cropping or selecting is aiding in making things look real, i think its ok. if however, it is making someone look better in a way that is false, i think that is kinda weak. i understand not being comfortable with ones physique, but if you are faking your fit, you are losing out. you are likely missing useful tips that would improve how you actually look.

Most days I have time only to take a picture holding out the phone at arm's length. But that's okay because the critiques I seek are more about combinations than fit. Almost everything I have has been shown in a full length shot at one point or another, so there's not much for me to gain on that front.

That said, I want to get a collection together for Citan to get a tripod and camera so we can settle once and for all whether his jackets have too much waist suppression. biggrin.gif

"Not sure the stripes on stripes in the 2nd pic are working. Too similar in size."

Entirely possible. FWIW, the shirt's stripes are alternating navy and mid-blue and read as about half the width of what shows in that blown-out iPhone pic. Honestly, I had a plain white shirt in mind, but our being on time outweighed taking the time to iron the shirt I really wanted to wear. I know. Small-timer.
