Didn't mean to say that patch pockets are a requirement, only that they are a casual aspect of a jacket and therefore would be best for complimenting jeans.

This works in my eyes. Sid is one of the few guys that can carry jeans and a SC because his tailoring is naturally softer and more relaxed. The softer shoulders and bolder pattern of the SC (in a material that is neither rigid nor smooth), matched with the sloppily tied tie and wrinkled shirt all work well with jeans. Again, though, I will not openly condone ties with jeans. That only invites more catastrophe.

I will admit I am a bit biased, however, as I know his personality and his air of geniality and nonchalance is what really makes his style. Granted I still think he needs to show less ankle.

I'm afraid the angle from which this picture was taken has something to do with it as well.

Tusting. I think it was a limited edition in Navy. Bought it at Fortnum and Mason. It looks great, but creases and scratches a lot.

I thought the "thick in the hips" look was what trad was all about. Not that this is necessarily a trad look, given the nice blue color and the jaunty ticket pocket, but the hip flare = definitely trad.

In short, I agree with the Ogre - nice suit, not too sure about the fit (also bugging me: the gap in the quarters where we can see your shirt).

I've been wanting to see those Mashburn suits made my the mysterious Italian tailor he found. I was going to go last week, but the valet at the Buckhead hotel I was staying at -- which will remain unnamed to protect the guilty -- wrecked my car. I think the universe was punishing me for staying in Buckhead in the first place.

I think that is not inappropriate to offset physical characteristics with appropriate attire. In case of short stature :pants, sleeves and jacket may be longer. Here I see inconsistency between the pants and jacket (and shirt!) sleeves. Try to wear a normal charcoal or almost black suit, single breast, with a dark shirt, in the correct size (short or extra short). The figure will be more streamlined and give value to the vertical lines. Here i see colors (navy blazer with stone pants) that i like, but that are not for you (dark complexion  with little contrast in the face), in my respectful opinon.
