Don't wear this unless you're a member of One Direction. It's a very young, severe, stage costume/wannabe red carpet look. It looks more like how a woman would dress a man rather than how a man would dress himself.

I think you need some structure in your shoulders; it comes off a little weeny.

I'll see what I can do about better photos... I know they have been horrible so far.

When I got the new job, I went out and purchased 4 suits...

- 1 Black (Hugo Boss)

- 1 Black w/ White Pinstripe (RL)

- 1 Dark Grey w/ Light Grey Pinstripe (RL)

- 1 Light Grey Suit (RL)

I found these on a really good sale, but with so much similarity it's difficult to show much variety in dress. I'm trying to mix in some color with shirt and tie combinations. Again, any suggestions are welcomed. I know I need to a purchase a navy suit, any other staples you would suggest?

I really like this setup, except for the tie...

I dig the tie, but personally I wouldn't match it with this particular coat.

I like the 'unstructured' look of the jacket, I have a few blazers from jcrew with a similar fit that I wear quite often.

I would have purchased a charcoal grey instead of the black but nothing you can do now frown.gif. I would suggest you definitely get a navy suit next. Pretty much charcoal grey, medium grey, navy, and light grey are your "staple" choices. You can get a pinstripe in charcoal, mid grey, navy etc. but those become less versatile but no less conservative. I would suggest you look into navy and a solid mid or dark grey. For shirts you want a few whites, a few solid blues, a blue micro check and maybe a blue fine stripe. That way you can play with patterns but still have versatile. Big pattern shirts and ties can come later. For ties I would suggest a few conservative repp stripe ties (i.e. BB, polo, etc.) a few solids (a navy, black, brown, or burgundy grenadine tie) and a few small patterns (navy, brown, blue, burgundy etc.) that would go well with the solid shirts or a shirt with a larger pattern.

I think the better response is... Take this post/question out of WAYWN and in to the proper forum.

Don't take the photo with bright light behind you. Place the camera chest high... Camera phone?

On my way back from visiting my friends at Cad & the Dandy where
I was trying on my new suit and filming another stage of its creation
(some film maker buddies & I are filming the whole process).
Just a sneak peak for now.

Definitely navy, maybe a navy pinstripe. It would actually help if we knew what industry you were in...see how much you can get away with. Since you are in the South where the heat is on, maybe you can get away with a lightweight tan or olive suit suit.

I saw this on my dashboard earlier today and thought it was mighty good. Socks are scary, but.

I work for Hospice as a Chaplain & a Marketer. So I'm in and out of professional offices daily, but I also do visitations with families.

My job calls for a more conservative look, but I wish I could get away with a more vintage southern look, I really dig the Billy Reid kind of style.

Then you should keep it to navy and grey. Save the three-piece seersucker for relaxing on the front porch on the weekend.
