@ clapeyron
"looking good. oxblood shoes would have killed this. did you loose weight?"

thanks man. at present i dont have any oxblood shoes, something i hope to remedy at some point.

i dont think i lost weight, that would be nice though. the scale and i dont see eye to eye, so i rarely visit him.

Ah, I see. Yeah, OK, I see where you're coming from now. I used the specs in a rather different look today; I wonder what you'll think about this variant.

He didn't have enough prep time.

Nice choice of vid, but I'm thinking this may work too:

No not really, I am really regretting the OCBD, and I think the rise on my pants looks too low. The fit is actually from yesterday but I wasn't able to get the pics up until now.

Jesus Stitchy, its time to lay off the cheese danish.

I don't like the jacket as is. Shoulders look too wide, sleeves too long, and it could use a bit of suppression (although that could be the angle). And the pants definitely create a weird look there. Tie should be burned. All mauve colored items should be burned.

Is that some color changing polish you have on the corthay's? Looks like two different shoes. I really don't like the color combo of the beige linen and tan. Something a bit off there. I like that linen jacket. Very sharp.

The blue check, double ring belt, and spectator shoes make for a very odd visual combination here. Jacket looks a little big, but I suspect that's from the seated pose. This one could definitely do with some simplification.

agree on the jacket...i like it a lot..almost bought the EXACT one. but it needs to be nipped a bit to give it some shape....and the sleeves could lose an inch in the length.

i love the tie. its brown though Bo...not mauve.

mauve...yech. All the rage in 1993.

WTF DUDE! do you not know that this thread is all about giving people validation, and making them feel good. fashion is in the eye of the beholder, and if i think it looks good, then it does. there are no specific rules that have to be followed as long as you are happy with the way you look.

do you have some kind of problem, or are you just an asshole?

shoulders may be wide, sleeves are not too long, must be the way im holding my arms. jacket defo needs suppression, but i dont trust anyone here with that. i could go to fields in DC, but thats a lot of money and time. eventually i will.

the tie is focking awesome. its more burnt orange/brown than mauve. sucks for you that you cant see that.

here

also - its NEVER time to lay off of cherry cheese danishes smile.gif

I would have gone simple for the shirt design (ont solid color shirt) and a caramel brown belt since the shoes are already flashy. My rule of thumb is only one piece of clothing that stand out. Everything else must be tone down. To many flashy stuff and it becomes too busy.

The colours are quite muted, it's not like there's a pattern/colour bonanza going on. Gingham is quiet enough and the belt is hardly visible. The major impression given when standing up with the suit buttoned will be quite subdued, with the spectators giving it a personal touch. As a casual outfit this is great imho.
